……The tweets came from New York Times fact-checker Gina Chérélus, who Newsmax TV host John Cardillo said had “a nearly decade long history of reprehensible racist and homophobic Tweets.”
The tweets from Chérélus featured homophobic and racial slurs as well as animus toward other racial groups dating back several years ago.
The tweets come after Breitbart News reported last month that one of The New York Times’ top editors — Tom Wright-Piersanti — had published multiple anti-Semitic tweets.
The New York Times had to face charges of racism against white people last year after they hired Sarah Jeong to be on their editorial board and numerous bigoted tweets from her were unearthed and instantly went viral.
……The newspaper responded to Jeong’s tweets in a statement: “Her journalism and the fact that she is a young Asian woman have made her a subject of frequent online harassment. For a period of time she responded to that harassment by imitating the rhetoric of her harassers.”
“In other words, it’s not her fault, white racism caused Sarah Jeong’s racism against white people. She’s the victim here, Harvard graduate oppressed person that she is,” (Tucker) Carlson later said on his show. “Some of Jeong’s many defenders in the press accused her critics of taking her tweets out of context. But that’s not true, we checked. There’s no context for these tweets. Sarah Jeong was furious at an entire race of people and she said so on Twitter.”
