The court-martial trial begins Monday for Bradley Manning, the Army private who has already admitted to sending more than 700,000 war-related and other classified U.S. documents to WikiLeaks.
The trial in the 3-year-old espionage case begins after months of pretrial hearings and will be held in Fort Meade, in Maryland, about 30 miles north of the White House.Pfc. Manning is charged with indirectly aiding the enemy by causing classified material to be published on WikiLeaks, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Manning has admitted to sending the material to WikiLeaks — an online, non-profit group that publishes secret and classified information from anonymous sources. He did so after accessing a supposedly secure government computer network, then downloading the information — Afghan and Iraq battlefield reports, State Department cables and video of a U.S. Apache helicopter attack that killed a Reuters news photographer and his driver.
The 25-year-old Manning said in a statement in February that he leaked the material because he wanted the public to know how the American military was fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with little regard for human life.
You want little regard for human life? The body count racked up by the practitioners of the ‘peaceful religion of Islam’ should have had the indignant little mutherfucker in convulsions a long time ago. Obviously, he has less of a problem with muzzie terrorists and their atrocities than what it takes to stop them.
BTW: Wikileaks forgot to mention (or show) that the Army unit was engaged in combat at the time, and taking fire from an armed enemy. One was carrying a rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Another was carrying an AK-47 assault rifle. Incidentally, those two Reuters photographers were embedded with the terrorists. Aw….Too fucking bad.
Last I checked we are still at war. He thinks while the Taliban and Al Qaeda are shooting at us, planting IEDs, and killing Americans in the name of “allah” that we shouldn’t be killing them in return.
He got the information while working as an intelligence analyst in Baghdad in 2010.
Last week, Manning’s lawyers said they had reached a deal that may eliminate the need for testimony from a member of the military team that killed Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden.Prosecutors also agreed to accept Manning’s guilty plea to a lesser version of one of the counts.
Under the agreement, the prosecution and defense teams would acknowledge evidence at the trial that indicated bin Laden saw some of the material Manning released. The raid team member, presumably a Navy SEAL, was expected to testify that the evidence was recovered during the May 2011 raid that killed bin Laden inside his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
Didja get that? Mr. ‘Little Regard for Human Life’ gave top secret information that ended up in the hands of the very cold-blooded muzzie excrement responsible for planning the 9/11 attacks and other world-wide atrocities.
Manning didn’t leak classified documents for any noble purpose, he did it because he’s a fucking problem child who was ‘disgusted’ with his commanders and U.S. ”society at large”.
His act of treason compromised Intel sources and exposed information that damaged U.S. security. He also endangered the very Afghans with whom he claimed to sympathize.
Manning is no principled “whistle blower”; he’s an egotistical attention whore, who took it upon himself to selectively divulge information—including about 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables—that can and certainly did benefit our enemies.
This cockholster violated his security clearance, his oath of service, and the trust placed in him by his country and the United States Army. In a perfect world, he’d be taken out and shot.
On the bright side…at least he’s on trial. Had he yelled allahu akbar, his trial would be still pending 3 years and 7 months later.
