We took the House by storm. We did not take the Senate, but we gained seats and the majority of governorships.
The Tea Party was the major factor.
Fox News projects that Republicans will see a net gain of about 65 seats in the House. In races from Florida to Virginia to Indiana to Texas, voters were sending a rebuke to the party in power by electing Republicans over Democratic incumbents. Seniority did not seem to matter. Longtime representatives were falling just as hard as freshmen, succumbing to campaigns — many of them backed by the Tea Party movement — that tied them to unpopular federal policies and proposals.
The GOP will not seize power in the Senate, with wins by Democratic Leader Harry Reid and a handful of others relegating Republicans to minority status for at least another two years. But they came close enough that neither party can be steamrolled by the other in the next Congress.
House Republican Leader John Boehner, now poised to succeed Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the House, choked up as he addressed a jubilant crowd Tuesday night — he attributed his party’s success to a popular rejection of big government, big spending and big bailouts.
……”It’s clear tonight who the winners really are, and that’s the American people,” Boehner said. “Across the country right now, we are witnessing a repudiation of Washington, a repudiation of big government and a repudiation of politicians who refuse to listen to the American people.”
Boehner vowed to fulfill his party’s “pledge” to cut spending and reduce the size of government, saying he’s willing to work with Obama if he “respects the will of the people” and changes course.
My home state of Ohio pretty much cleaned out the Dem trash with the exception of shitbags like Dennis Kucinich and Betty Sutton.

In New Mexico, Susana Martinez was elected as the nation’s first female Hispanic governor. Nikki Haley, whose parents were born in India, will be the first woman governor in South Carolina, and Brian Sandoval became Nevada’s first Hispanic governor.
Insurance company owner Tim Scott will be the first black Republican congressman from South Carolina since the post-Civil War Reconstruction Era in the 1860s-1870s, after easily winning in his conservative district. Scott, a 45-year-old state representative, earned a Republican primary victory over the son of the one-time segregationist U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond.
In Florida, military veteran Allen West outfought a two-term Democrat to win his House race. He is the first black Republican elected to Congress from Florida since a former slave served two terms in the 1870s.

First thought … did I hear right? Was that Nancy Pelosi out there in Taxifornia telling the media that her information was that Democrats were on pace to retain control of the House? Is she nuts? In fact … it was George Bush who ordered the Speaker of the House be provided with a private aircraft. Trouble is … Nancy wanted a bigger jet. One that could fly to the left coast without having to refuel. No … she doesn’t have a 757 assigned to her. But on occasion she is upgraded to a larger jet when strong headwinds prevent a coast-to-coast flight. Me? I’m just looking forward to Pelosi moving back to a commercial airliner with her constituents. She’s earned it.

Harry (white flag) Reid held on to his Senate seat, under very questionable circumstances. Voter fraud had already been established during the early voting, and the Nevada election stinks to high heaven.
California officially flushed itself down the toilet by re-electing Barbara (“call me Senator”) Boxer, and electing Jerry (governor moonbeam) Brown.
There’s just some areas of the country you have to write off as a waste of oxygen; like California, Vermont, Massachusetts, and parts of North East Ohio, who cannot see past their liberal/union noses and keep putting the same Dem douchebags back into office.
More good news from Florida: Alan Grayson, the barking moonbat known for making loopy comments and acting nuts, has been defeated by Republican Daniel Webster. Marco Rubio also defeated the former R.I.N.O. Charlie Crist.
All in all, it was a fantastic mid-term victory for Republicans and Tea Party principles. Now, the hard work starts. They have to get busy unfucking all the damage the Dems have done to this country, especially in the last 2 years. They have their hands full.
