A man who was gravely injured during the Trump assassination attempt at the Butler rally in July 2024 has sadly passed away.
Jim Copenhaver, who was 74 at the time, was severely injured on July 13, 2024, when Thomas Crooks opened fire on President Trump and rallygoers.
Copenhaver was shot two times while attending the rally. He was grazed on the arm and hit directly in his abdomen.
Retired firefighter Corey Camperatore was also killed by Crooks in the shooting. Crooks was fatally shot only after he fired off eight rounds at President Trump.
House Republicans on Thursday announced that Jim Copenhaver had passed away.
Copenhaver reportedly died of complications from his injuries.
Via the House Republicans:
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jim Copenhaver, who was gravely wounded in the horrific shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Jim endured unimaginable hardship with strength and perseverance.
We join his family and loved ones in mourning his loss and praying for them during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”

God Bless him.
This was his statement after being shot:

The only consolation is that President Trump survived and Crooks was removed from the gene pool.
