‘Jihad Jane’ Indicted for Terror Plot

This bitch needs to be put up in front of a military tribunal.

A Pennsylvania woman who used the alias Jihad Jane plotted to recruit jihadist fighters and conspired to commit murders overseas, according to an indictment unsealed in Philadelphia.

Colleen LaRose, also known as Fatima LaRose, of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, was charged with one count of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, one count of conspiracy to kill in a foreign country, one count of making false statements and one count of attempted identity theft, U.S. Attorney Michael Levy in Philadelphia said today in an e-mailed statement.

The case “demonstrates that terrorists are looking for Americans to join them in their cause, and it shatters any lingering thought that we can spot a terrorist based on appearance,” Levy said.

LaRose and five unindicted co-conspirators located in South Asia, eastern and western Europe and the U.S. allegedly recruited men and women on the Internet who had the ability to travel to and around Europe. LaRose and the co-conspirators allegedly discussed plans including martyring themselves, soliciting funds for terrorists and avoiding travel restrictions to wage a “violent Jihad,” according to the statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Mark Wilson, an attorney for LaRose with the Federal Community Defender Office in Philadelphia, declined to comment on the case. If convicted, LaRose faces life imprisonment and a $1 million fine.

Prosecutors claim that LaRose posted a comment on YouTube in June 2008 under the username JihadJane, stating she was “desperate to do something somehow to help” suffering Muslims. By February 2009, she was telling one co-conspirator in correspondence that her physical appearance would allow her to “blend in with many people,” according to the indictment.
In March 2009, LaRose agreed to obtain residency status in Sweden and marry another co-conspirator to get him inside Europe, the U.S. said. Later that month, LaRose allegedly received a direct order to kill a citizen and resident of Sweden and to do so in a way that would frighten non-Muslims, prosecutors said.

LaRose traveled to Europe and tracked the intended target online in an effort to complete her task, prosecutors said. The case is U.S. v. Colleen R. LaRose, 10-cr-00123, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia).

This kills me:

The case “demonstrates that terrorists are looking for Americans to join them in their cause, and it shatters any lingering thought that we can spot a terrorist based on appearance,” Levy said.

Or religious/terrorist ideology, right Mike? There’s a common denominator if you look hard enough. Dumbass.

  1. I disagree with Levy’s statement. What would have been a more intelligent response? How about, “The case “demonstrates that terrorists are looking for Americans to join them in their cause, and it shatters any lingering thought that we can spot a terrorist based on appearance ALONE.”?

As opposed to that fool Penn’s spouting nonsense, this is an appropriate – indeed mandated – function of government. I’d like to see her get a fair trial followed by a first class Gotti sentence. Isolation in a supermax for 25 years.

    1. Dan,

It’s wartime. She is an enemy combatant. She organized and recruited Islamic terrorist cells for the purpose of attacking this country. She deserves a military tribunal, then immediate execution.
