35 Years. That motherfucker still has the chance to walk out of prison after 17 1/2 years if granted parole. Fuck that. He should have gotten the same death he gave Austin.
Austin’s father Jeff Metcalf, had some choice words for Anthony:
We were robbed. Don’t look down,” he said. “From day one, I said this was never about race. Please don’t politicize it. “But that’s exactly what both of you chose to do. This is about right and wrong. We’re all human. We all bleed the same color.” He continued, “You’re free to make choices, but you’re not free from the consequences. And you will face those consequences starting today.” Metcalf’s voice rose with raw emotion as he described his grief. “People think grief is sadness, but it’s not. IT’S RAGE!” He slammed his hands on the table. “Pure, unfiltered rage.”
“You failed your parents, you failed yourself, and you failed society. You don’t belong in this community.” “You’re going to prison. You can’t even look me in the eyes right now, but you had no problem stabbing my fucking son in the heart.”
A Collin County jury has sentenced Karmelo Anthony to 35 years in prison after he was found guilty of murder in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Memorial High School student Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas.
…….Jurors were then tasked with determining Anthony’s sentence, in which they decided Metcalf’s stabbing was not in “sudden passion,” which would have capped his potential prison time at 20 years behind bars. He ultimately faced the possibility of up to 99 years in prison.
A Texas jury has sentenced teenage killer Karmelo Anthony to 35 years in prison for fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf, 17, in the heart last year.
The 19-year-old was found guilty of first-degree murder in Metcalf’s death on Tuesday. The jury was then tasked with determining how long Anthony will be imprisoned for.
After about two and a half hours, the jury rejected Anthony’s defense’s argument that he killed Metcalf in the heat of the moment.
It would have reduced his murder charge to a second degree felony, which would have lowered the punishment range from two to 20 years in prison.
As the sentence was read in court, gasps could be heard coming from the galley as Anthony started to sob.
Boo Fucking Hoo. This is the same punk who told students in the Memorial High School tent, “I’m not leaving, fuck you all,” and called them “a bunch of pussies” who were “not going to do nothing about it”. He also insulted the football team, saying “Y’all are ass,” and when confronted by Metcalf, he reportedly replied, “You’re not going to move me. “You’re a bitch”.
