A heartbreaking and unforgettable tragedy beset the town of Newtown on Friday morning as 28 people, including 20 children, were killed at an elementary school by a lone gunman.
“Evil visited this community today and it’s too early to speak of recovery,” Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy said. “Each parent, each sibling, each member of the family has to understand Connecticut — we’re all in this together.”
While the families of victims were notified, authorities on Friday night were still in the process of positively identifying those killed.
Officials had been briefing the public on the situation throughout the day, while local officials were still looking at various angles as they continued their “massive investigation” in coordination with the FBI and ATF.
While authorities have still not officially identified the gunman who opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School, law enforcement sources have named him as 20-year-old Adam Lanza.
Lanza’s mother, Nancy Lanza, was found dead Friday inside her Newtown home, CBS News reported. After Adam Lanza shot and killed his her, he drove her car to the school, where he opened fire on adults and children, 1010 WINS’ Al Jones reported.
Nancy Lanza was shot in the face, CBS News’ John Miller reported.
State Police Lt. Paul Vance said 18 children and six adults, including the school’s principal, Dawn Hochsprung, were pronounced dead at that scene. Two other children later died at the hospital. One other person was injured, Vance said.
The only small consolation is that Lanza put a round in his own head. Too bad he didn’t do that instead of going on a rampage.
And of course, the anti-Second Amendment liberal cockroaches come crawling out of the woodwork to climb up on their political soapboxes and scream about ‘gun control’.
With all the carnage from gun violence in our country, it’s still almost impossible to believe that a mass shooting in a kindergarten class could happen. It has come to that. Not even kindergarteners learning their A,B,Cs are safe. We heard after Columbine that it was too soon to talk about gun laws. We heard it after Virginia Tech. After Tucson and Aurora and Oak Creek. And now we are hearing it again. For every day we wait, 34 more people are murdered with guns. Today, many of them were five-year olds. President Obama rightly sent his heartfelt condolences to the families in Newtown. But the country needs him to send a bill to Congress to fix this problem.
Aw, shut the fuck up, Bloomberg. Your city has a complete ban on private gun ownership yet somehow criminals manage to get a hold of them and commit hundreds of crimes everyday.
The trouble with the mentality of idiots like Michael Bloomberg is that they believe guns are the problem when it’s the scumbags who pick up the guns and commit the crimes.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino jumped on the bandwagon, calling for a nation-wide suppression of gun rights.
Dem douche Rep. Jerrold Nadler (NY) says that this is the prime opportunity for Obama to exploit the murders to get gun control.
And of course, what would a shooting of this kind be without the leftwingnut fringe blaming conservatives.
Part of the leftwing media’s philosophy is, “There is nothing wrong with politicizing tragedy”, so expect them to milk this shit for all it’s worth.
After the shooting by nut case Jim Holmes in a Colorado movie theater, mainstream media commentators immediately blamed the Tea Party.
Even when lone wackos Jared Loughner and Joseph Andrew Stack turned out to be deranged leftwingnuts and not Tea Party supporters as they fervently hoped, they still continued to fill the airwaves with spit-flecked rants.
When Soldiers in Arkansas and Texas were murdered by radical muslims, the MSM switched into high gear over a “backlash against muslims”, and in some cases, blamed the victims.
Some wackjob in China attacked 22 school children with a knife. OJ Simpson murdered his ex-wife and her friend with a knife. Quick, someone call for a ban on cutlery.
Anders Breivik shot dozens of people to death in Norway. Charles Whitman climbed up the bell tower at the University of Texas and picked off 13 people and wounded 32 with a sniper rifle.
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered their classmates and teachers at Columbine High School, in spite of the fact that the two punks had been openly threatening people for years.
Britain has some of the most strict gun laws in the world, but that didn’t stop Thomas Hamilton from strolling into a grade school in Dunblane Scotland and killing 16 children and a teacher.
The bottom line is this: If some psychopathic shitbag wants to grab a gun and kill people there’s little you can do to stop it. Banning guns won’t impress criminals; they’ll just be the only ones to have them. The asshole politicians who bitch about gun control usually have armed security details and live in upscale residential areas where crime isn’t much of an issue.
Just wait, the next round of scapegoating will involve George Bush and a video.

The massacre is a great example of mandating that all teachers and school staff be armed with handguns at all times during the school day. Had those adults all been armed, this could have been avoided imo. What a waste. Gun-Control is being able to hit your target.
