The Tea Party Protests and Principles Versus the “Occupy” Protests and Manifesto

Compare and contrast the makeup of the opposing groups, and the media’s portrayal of each.

Tea Party protests:

Principles of the Tea Party Contract From America (excerpts)
Individual Liberty
Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government. It is essential to the practice of these liberties that we be free from restriction over our peaceful political expression and free from excessive control over our economic choices.

Limited Government
The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country’s sovereign borders. When our government ventures beyond these functions and attempts to increase its power over the marketplace and the economic decisions of individuals, our liberties are diminished and the probability of corruption, internal strife, economic depression, and poverty increases.

Economic Freedom
The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. The market economy, driven by the accumulated expressions of individual economic choices, is the only economic system that preserves and enhances individual liberty. Any other economic system, regardless of its intended pragmatic benefits, undermines our fundamental rights as free people.

Protect the Constitution
Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. (82.03%)

Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington
Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitution’s meaning. (63.37%)

End Runaway Government Spending
Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%)

Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn’t restricted by state boundaries. (56.39%)

Stop the Pork
Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%)

Stop the Tax Hikes
Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains, and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011. (53.38%)

Take a good look at those neanderthals in the Tea Party photos. And all that scary talk about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Those “bitter, gun-clinging bigots”! Those nasty, hateful people and their ideas on free market economy, fiscal responsibility, and the legislative process. Their audacious criticism of the government’s discretionary bailouts, and the confiscation of banks and private industry. No tolerance of the Marxist usurpation of the White House. Their objection to the trillions of dollars in new debt and tax hikes. They’re just a bunch of low rent, trailer park rednecks with no appreciation of what’s good for them. How dare they question the Obamessiah? Such insolence!

The leftwingnut Occupy Progs:

Look at them, aren’t they lovely?  Such fine specimens of American citizenship.  Their intelligence, understanding of the constitution, and sense of civic and personal responsibility is truly a ‘teaching moment’.

The “Occupy” Manifesto, aka: “The American People’s New Economic Charter” (excerpts)

Halt all bailouts to financial institutions that are from the big five, Goldman Sachs, Citbank, Chase, BofA, Wells Fargo, not nationally ingrained in a local community or state.  These “larger than life” institutions need to redirect funds from their profit sheets on a regular basis to community bank start ups or credit unions to assure economic diversity within the nation to state and county regulations.

End credit background checks conducted by employers and employment agencies.

Subsidize all student loans.
Get Wall Street out of the private student loan business and maintain fair and reasonable public loans for all students who need them.

Education should be funded with some of the $2 billion/week that goes to war-funding. At least 50% of it. This will weaken our military by 50% at least, forcing the rest of the world to pick up the slack. This will in turn cause their economies to tank, taking ours with it. But at least we’ll be highly educated.

Socialize undergraduate level college. Make failing impossible to assure that everyone has the same chance in the work place post-college.

Strict oversight and regulation of for-profit colleges, including their use and misuse of Federal funding and student loans.

Require all states to equitably fund education for all populations.

Teach character building classes from grade one, measure success based on drive/cooperation/interactions with others, not only final outcome.  Impose universal morality for parents who do not participate in raising their children. Remove children from households with parents who refuse to educate them properly. Provide for re-education of parents in how to properly raise their children for the happiness of the Party.

Wars and Militarism – end wars and occupations, end private for-profit military contractors, reduce the national security state and end the weapons export industry. War crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against peace must be addressed and those responsible held accountable under international law.

Disallow names on job applications (

Enact a “Truth in Journalism” law similar to “Truth in Advertising,” whereby the FCC is required by law to report on journalistic errors and intentional deception.

Extend constitutional rights to anyone taken into custody by American Officials. Always abide by Habius (sic) Corpus and such human rights treaties. Permanently shut down Guantanamo Bay. Give every prisoner, everywhere, a fair trial by Their Own Peers (not just randomly selected citizens or court marshals (sic).

To ensure that our government is addressing the needs of its tax paying citizens, it should be held accountable for achieving specific Gross National Happiness index target values.

There’s also a section that provides for “New Salary Range Recommendations Based on Concepts of Economic Sustainability and Right Livelihood.”  The average salary for the itemized professions is $27,875.  The military gets zilch.

By the way, they also have a list of grievances, if the economic charter isn’t enough.

After reading their proposal for the New World Order in America, who wouldn’t want The State to:

Dictate how banks operate by nationalizing them as government-controlled assets. After all, all private property and assets are really a “right of the people”.

Force businesses to hire without vetting employees or knowing their names.  What business is it of theirs to know if a prospective employee is a pedophile, rapist, or  violent habitual felon?  Names identify a person’s heritage. Assign them a number, instead.  It’s so much more egalitarian.

Socialize education.  And make the filthy rich pay for the people’s tuition, books, transportation to class, housing, and the people’s professor’s salary.  Make failure impossible so as not to hurt the feelings of less competitive, less able students.  No one person should be able to excel on their own merits if all students can’t do the same. Continue the  indoctrination in schools instruct parents on how to  raise and discipline their children.  The State will determine morality and character.  If the parents don’t like it, they will be arrested and taken off to the re-education camps, and their children will be raised by the State.

All wars will be ended.  All they have to do is convince all the countries on the planet to cease and desist with the conflicts and start holding hands and eating granola.  Start with the Islamic jihadists. That should be a piece of cake.

The Truth in Journalism idea will be extended to include truth in broadcasting, opinion, political analysis and thought.  Initial focus will be on Fox News, since it has been the least compliant with the socialist Hope and Change agenda. The White House ObamaCare snitch line, aka,  the “truth squad” ,  and Big Sis’  enemies of the Obama State, are all ideas that will be expanded to ensure uniform cooperation among the masses.

All enemy combatants, especially Islamic terrorists, will be protected under the U.S. Constitution, regardless of country origin, and be given a fair trial by their peers; Al Qaeda and Taliban jurors.

The Gross National Happiness meter of the poor and downtrodden victims of capitalism will be checked on a daily basis to coincide with the amount of taxes imposed on the filthy rich, who will eventually, if not immediately, be brought down to poverty level.    Except Michael Moore, who will be allocated enough money for his expenses at the all-you-can-eat trough at Golden Corral.

Everyone will be happy to receive an average $27,000 annual income.  Or they’ll join the uncooperative parents in the re-education camps.

Of course, the flaming douchebaggers in the “Occupy” crowd, the Communist Party, the Socialist Workers Party, the SEIU, and all the other leftwing lunatic fringe groups, will find it very difficult if not impossible to achieve their New World Order.  But you gotta give them Brownie points for creative stupidity.

After examining the substance, the intent, and the purpose of the opposing groups, perhaps the main stream media hacks can explain why they give the communist apparatchiks a complete pass on their incendiary rhetoric, violence, and hellish intent for the country.
