Native Hawaiians Debate ‘Sovereignty’

As long as they refund every cent spent by mainland tourists, reimburse the cost of every business investment, and take Obama back permanently, they can have it. It’s a blue state anyway, so less electoral votes for the DemProgs.

From Hawaii News Now.

WAIMANOLO, Hawaii (AP) – Native Hawaiians could be in line for federal recognition similar to many American Indian tribes. But the issue is inflaming distrust between moderates who support the idea and others who want to see the Hawaiian Kingdom restored.

Before Hawaii became a tourist mecca, the islands were ruled by royal families. The kingdom was overthrown by a group of American businessmen in 1893.

The federal government is now mulling a relationship with Hawaiians that could protect more than 200 programs and secure millions in federal money. Advocates have been seeking federal recognition for more than a decade.

Hawaiian nationalists insist that the kingdom should be restored. Their dominance of the debate could threaten a proposal that could give Native Hawaiians privileges enjoyed by other native groups.

Brian Parnell I agree…and cut off ALL federal

monies, tourism, and relations at the same time.

Let’s see how long it takes to return to cannibalism…

Brian Parnell – we would love to. Just make sure

to pay us back for all the infrastructure and

welfare payments for the last 100 years.

If the US had not been there already another

power would have laid claim to the land due to

the island’s strategic position in the Pacific,

probably the Empire of Japan. Then we would be

reading about your extinct culture cited as a part

of the war crimes leveled against the Japanese

following WWII in our history books at school.

Not to mention the amount of “Native” marines

and Sailors we would have had to sacrifice to

retake the Islands, which would have caused

even more collateral damage to your people. As

it stands, your proud heritage is intact and you

became part of the most powerful, free country in

the history of the world that tolerates even people like you.

Brian Parnell : As long as Hawaii is willing to foot

the bill for its own military and defense, I have no

problem with Hawaii leaving the Union. But don’t

expect to have your cake and eat mine, too.

Brian Parnell 1941-45, the Japanese Imperial Army

would have slaughtered and/or enslaved

everyone on your precious island kingdom.

You’re welcome

Yes its the white man fault, again, guess they want to go

back to a chief, multiple “wives”, slavery, murder in the name

of the volcano god and pedophilia sounds great.

Hawaii wasn’t exactly a land of peace, love, and kumbaya before the white businessmen showed up.

Just go ahead and cut them loose. Make them produce passports to visit America and apply for visas if they want to work or go to school here. If they overstay their visit or if they come in illegally, boot them out like other illegal aliens.

I’m all for it.
