Following the public identification of France, he deleted both his X and LinkedIn accounts. Shoemate reported that he had notified France’s chain of command about the threats, emphasizing the seriousness of such behavior from an officer responsible for providing legal advice to naval command and influencing policies affecting potentially thousands of sailors. Legal experts have noted that the threats could potentially violate Article 89 (disrespect toward a superior commissioned officer) and Article 133 (conduct unbecoming an officer) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). As of August 8, 2025, no official statement from the U.S. Navy regarding an investigation or disciplinary action against France has been reported.
He should be given two choices: resign his commission or be courts martialed.
