World leaders gathered in New York for the annual high-level debate of the United Nations General Assembly. In his first UN address since returning to the presidency, President Donald Trump delivered a speech that criticized the globalist institution while pressing his “America-First” agenda on immigration, climate, and global security.
President Trump opened his remarks by first questioning the UN’s effectiveness, accusing it of offering little more than “strongly worded letters” in the face of global crises.
He argued that the institution is failing its mission and warned member states against relying on it for decisive action. The comments prompted a mixed response inside the chamber, with muted applause and even visible discomfort from some delegates.
Illegal immigration and mass migration were central themes in Trump’s address. He described them as a “failed experiment” that erodes national identities and called on countries to enforce stricter border measures.
“Your countries are being ruined,” Trump told European leaders directly, asserting that their cultural heritage was under threat.
The U.S. president also dismissed global climate change initiatives as a disguised “con job,” highlighting past environmental predictions, seemingly fueled by fear mongering from the scientific community, that never came true.
He argued further that green energy policies cripple economies and weaken energy security.
“They promised countries would be wiped off the map — and it never happened,” Trump reminded the UN, emphasizing that climate warnings tend to be exaggerated.
Later in the address, Trump continued to single out European governments on “uncontrolled” mass migration and illegal immigration, in addition to energy — accusing them of destroying their heritage and undermining security by continuing to purchase Russian energy despite supposedly opposing Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
He threatened tariffs and other economic consequences if Europe failed to adjust its energy strategy.
Commenting on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, Trump declared that Russia’s drawn-out war was making Moscow look weak. He linked potential U.S. tariffs against Russia to European cooperation on energy, suggesting an even harder line if the conflict does not move toward resolution.
Additionally, while addressing issues in the Middle East, President Trump reiterated his demand that Hamas release all hostages immediately, dead or alive, rejecting partial releases as being unacceptable. He also condemned any and all Western nations considering “recognition of a Palestinian state,” maintaining that such moves essentially reward Islamist terrorism and oppressive, militant governments.
While praising American service members, Trump highlighted recent U.S. military strikes against terrorist-designated drug cartels, informing global leaders that American forces had bombed trafficking boats as part of a broader crackdown on large-scale narcotics operations. Framing the action as a warning, he vowed that such direct measures against organized crime would continue — and escalate, if necessary.
He also emphasized the importance of religious liberty, declaring Christianity the world’s most persecuted faith. President Trump pointed to violence and discrimination faced by Christians in regions like Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Countries such as Nigeria, North Korea, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China are major hotspots for Christian persecution, according to the Open Doors World Watch List 2025.
On Tuesday at the United Nations, the charming and courageous president again showed why we don’t deserve him when he turned a pair of infuriating and potentially alarming technical mishaps into the best line ever delivered at that useless and criminal international organization.
“These are the two things I got from the United Nations: a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter,” Trump said.
The president’s line received a smattering of chuckles, but the UN’s corrupt globalists largely remained silent.
Meanwhile, Americans who watched and listened at home — at least those who love Trump — howled with laughter. I know I did. We definitely do not deserve him.
Perhaps the context of the president’s remarks helps explain why the repellent globalists sat stone-faced. In short, he rightly shamed them over the fact that he alone has already stopped multiple wars.
“It’s too bad that I had to do these things instead of the United Nations doing them,” Trump said only moments before delivering the classic line.
In fact, the UN took no part in the peace negotiations.
“And sadly,” the president continued, “in all cases the United Nations did not even try to help in any of them.”
Moments later, after delivering the line, Trump posed a serious question.
“What is the purpose of the United Nations?” he asked. “The UN has such tremendous potential. I’ve always said it. It has such tremendous, tremendous potential. But it’s not even coming close to living up to that potential.”
Moments before the speech, the president and First Lady Melania Trump indeed got stuck on an escalator that stopped unexpectedly. Then, during the speech, the president’s teleprompter somehow malfunctioned.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, however, smelled a rat. In fact, she posted part of a report, published on Sunday by The Times of London, which read as follows: “To mark Trump’s arrival, UN staff members have joked that they may turn off the escalators and elevators and simply tell him they ran out of money, so he has to walk up the stairs.”
Trump stood up for Christianity: “Together, let us defend free speech and free expression. Let us protect religious liberty, including for the most persecuted religion on the planet today—it’s called Christianity.”
Trump stood up for nationalism: “What makes the world so beautiful is each country is unique. To stay this way, every sovereign nation must have the right to control their own borders… Proud nations must be allowed to protect their communities and prevent their societies from being overwhelmed by people they’ve never seen before with different customs and religions.”
Trump stood up for Germans and the Swiss: “In 2024, almost 50% of inmates in German prisons were foreign nationals or migrants… In Switzerland, it’s 72%… When your prisons are filled with so-called asylum-seekers who repaid kindness with crime, it’s time to END the failed experiment of Open Borders.”
Trump stood up for Europe: “If you don’t get away from the green energy scam, your country is going to fail. If you don’t stop people that you’ve never seen before, that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail… You are destroying your heritage.”
Trump stood up for protective tariffs: “The challenge with trade is much the same as with climate: the countries that FOLLOWED the rules, all their factories have been plundered… by countries that BROKE the rules. That’s why the United States is now applying tariffs to other countries.”
Trump stood up for civilization: “Instead of giving in to Hamas’s ransom demands, those who want peace should be united with one message: RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!”
Trump stood up for fighting the drug cartels: “To every terrorist thug smuggling poisonous drugs into the United States of America, please be warned—we will blow you out of existence.”
Trump stood up for children: “Any system that results in the mass trafficking of children is inherently EVIL—yet that is exactly what the globalist migration agenda has done… In America, those days are over. The Trump Administration is working to track down the villains that are causing this problem.”
Why do the globalists at the UN hate Trump so? I’ll give you two reasons.
Reason 1: “The primary effect of these brutal green energy policies has not been to help the Environment, but to redistribute manufacturing and industrial activity from developed countries that FOLLOW the insane rules… to polluting countries that BREAK the rules.”
Reason 2: “The entire globalist concept of asking successful, industrialized nations to inflict pain on themselves and radically disrupt their entire societies MUST be rejected completely and totally—and it must be immediate.”
President Trump is one of the greatest communicators and steadfast patriots since Ronald Reagan.

The U.N. is a cesspool of despots and it’s riddled with corruption. It supports every communist and Islamofascist nation-state on the planet. No Western country with any moral decency or integrity would be part of it.

The U.N. General Assembly has been plagued by an endless parade of leftwing moonbats with an anti-American ax to grind. Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann, a Nicaraguan Sandinista who held the position of U.N. General Assembly President from 2008-2009, advocates Marxist-oriented liberation theology, received the Lenin Peace Prize from the old Soviet Union, and preached incessantly of “global governance”.
Richard Falk, an 83-year-old Princeton University professor and UN Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Human Rights, finally left his post after years of hateful rhetoric directed toward the U.S. Part of his legacy was to declare that the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon were “justifiable resistance.”
The United Nations serves as an enclave for America’s enemies. It caters to them, sympathizes with them, functions as their mouthpiece, and often, as a source of funding.
President Trump’s address to the group of UN lowlifes is a welcome change from Obama, the ingratiating simp who embarrassed himself before the U.N. cabal with ‘isn’t America awful’? tripe.
President Trump called out and identified the enemy, encouraged allies, and made it clear that America would defend itself and its interests around the world.
