I enlisted during the bicentennial in 1976. I never thought I’d be here to celebrate the semiquincentennial. It’s quite an experience.
America is the greatest most powerful nation on earth. For the last 250 years we fought for independence, joined with other countries in two world wars to defeat tyranny, won the Cold War over the Soviet empire, and the world turns to us in times of crisis. We’ve been to the moon and back six times. Our technology has grown exponentially. Our military is second to none.
In this tribute to our country, I will not dwell on the insidious subversive communist element that infects the Dem party and the media except to say that in the next 250 years , America will still be around and the depraved Left will be a historical footnote.
Euro tourists came here for the soccer World Cup and fell in love with America.
Japan is putting on a fantastic 4th of July celebration, in honor of our friendship.
Scottish soccer fans sing our national anthem in a Boston sports bar.

I was in Desert Storm when we heard about this. Didn’t get to see it until after the ceasefire and someone sent a VCR tape. Put a huge lump in our throats. I will never forget this.
September 17, 1787 as delegates left Independence Hall in Philadelphia Elizabeth Willing Powel asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” to which Franklin replied, “A republic, madam, if you can keep it.”
