WFTV-Channel 9’s Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it’s some of the best entertainment he’s seen recently. What do you think?
West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama’s comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn’t being a Marxist with the “spreading the wealth” comment.
“Are you joking?” said Biden, who is Obama’s running mate.
“No,” West said.
West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America’s days as the world’s leading power were over.
“I don’t know who’s writing your questions,” Biden shot back.
Biden so disliked West’s line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate’s wife.
“This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.
McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was “a result of her husband’s experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West.”

Dems nix WFTV chat with Jill Biden
Why did Barack Obama’s campaign cancel a WFTV-Channel 9 interview with Jill Biden, wife of Sen. Joe Biden? The campaign cited “an unprofessional interview” WFTV’s Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden.
In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was “both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts.”
Marsh said West’s insistence that Obama was an organizer for ACORN was “100 percent false.”
“In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism,” Marsh wrote. West said, “I think I asked him some pointed questions. . . . I don’t think I was rude or inconsiderate to him.” — HB
The real joke here is Biden and his utter contempt for people who dare to mention Obama’s socialist characteristics.
West: Aren’t you embarrassed by the blatant attempts to register phony voters by ACORN, an organization that Barack Obama has been tied to in the past?
Biden: I am not embarrassed by it. We are not tied to it. We’ve not paid them one single penny to register a single solitary voter….We’ve registered the voters ourselves, and so there is no relationship…We haven’t paid ACORN a single penny to register a single voter…
Liar. No, make that abject liar. The ties between Obama and his current campaign date back to his early days in Chicago. ACORN has worked for Obama throughout his career. As evidenced by his ‘community organizing’ and legal representation, the efforts have been mutual.
Biden went on to deny that Obama was a benefactor of ACORN, and opined that McCain ‘stood before ACORN and complimented them on the great job they were doing’ so, ‘does that mean that McCain is complicitous in any mistake ACORN made?’
No, especially since McCain is not an ACORN benefactor, nor is he a recipient of any fraudulent ACORN registrations, nor is ACORN a wing of the McCain campaign.
The next line of questioning got Biden’s panties in an even bigger wad:
West: Senator Obama now famously told Joe the Plumber he wanted to ‘spread his wealth’ around. A Gallup Poll showed 84% of Americans prefer government focus on improving economic conditions and creating more jobs in the U.S. as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth. Isn’t Senator Obama’s comment a potentially crushing political blunder?
Biden: Absolutely not. The only person who spread the wealth around has been George Bush and John McCain’s tax policy. They have devastated the middle class. For the first time since the late 20s, 1% of the American people make over 21% of the income in America. That wasn’t the way before George Bush became Presdident. All we want is for the middle class to once again have a fighting chance. That’s why we focus all of our efforts on restoring the middle class and giving them a tax break. And John McCain doubles down on Bush’s tax cuts, and adds 300 billion dollars in new tax cuts for the large corporations in America and the wealthy Americans….
West: “You may recognize this famous quote. It’s “From each according to his own abilities, to each according to his needs”. That’s from Karl Marx. How is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to ‘spread the wealth around’?
That’s when Biden, taken aback at the insolence of this future Proletariat, asked: “Are you joking”?

No Biden, we’re not joking when we say that an Obama presidency would bring Marxist ideology into the White House. Our concern is based on his background and his stated agenda.
President George W. Bush’s two tax cuts exempted 10 million more Americans from paying income tax. That’s LOWER WAGE earners. The Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate voted to extend the $400-per-child tax credits to low income families, most of whom don’t pay taxes.
The Obama plan calls for even more of a burden to be shifted to working, taxpaying Ameicans simply because they have jobs that pay a higher wage. He wants to give breaks alright, to people that have not paid into the system to begin with.
The tax burden is being shifted to fewer and fewer Americans. The top 5% of wage earners in this country pay 50% of all income tax. The bottom half pay 5%.
