At a so-called “living wage” protest in D.C.:
Rev. Graylan Hagler asked the mayor why he was letting a “little bitty cracker corporation from Arkansas” (Walmart) push the District around. Then, closing the rally, Hagler asked audience members to come to the church’s altar for an altar call, where they promised to lobby (Mayor Vince) Gray over the bill.
Funny, I don’t remember that part in the I Have a Dream speech.
Walmart warned the council that if they passed the specially hiked minimum wage that the company would refuse to build three of the six stores they were planning on and might pull out the city altogether.
If Walmart pulls out of the D.C. area entirely and leaves those muthafuckas with even less jobs than they have now, they’ll just eat up more taxpayer dollars on welfare.
I met Mr. Walton many years ago…he shook my hand and asked me how I was…back then he was on’y a bazillionaire an’ I was a truck driver…he went on to get rich…
