Cheney to Obama: How ‘Bout Releasing the Other CIA Reports?

Cheney Calls For More CIA Reports To Be Declassified
Mon Apr 20 2009 16:20:53 ET

In a two part interview airing tonight and tomorrow night on FOX News Channel’s Hannity (9-10PM ET), former Vice President Dick Cheney shared his thoughts on the CIA memos that were recently declassified and also revealed his request to the CIA to declassify additional memos that confirm the success of the Bush administration’s interrogation tactics:

“One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn’t put out the memos that showed the success of the effort. And there are reports that show specifically what we gained as a result of this activity. They have not been declassified.”

“I formally asked that they be declassified now. I haven’t announced this up until now, I haven’t talked about it, but I know specifically of reports that I read, that I saw that lay out what we learned through the interrogation process and what the consequences were for the country.”

“And I’ve now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions.”

I’d like to see that. It would show all the critics that lives were saved because interrogators used the methods necessary to extract valuable information.

    1. futiledemocracy,

You mean like Al-Qaeda scumbag Khalid Shaikh Mohammed? They dunked his smelly ass, too. He’s far from innocent.

Some of his accomplishments include: planning the 9-11 attacks that killed 3,000 in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, the first World Trade Center attack in 1993, the Operation Bojinka plot, an aborted 2002 attack on Los Angeles’ U.S. Bank Tower, the Bali nightclub bombings, the failed bombing of American Airlines Flight 63, the Millennium Plot, and the murder of Daniel Pearl.

      Or like:

Zayn Abidin Muhammed Hussein abu Zubaida, the first high-ranking al-Qaeda member captured after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, broke in less than a minute after he was subjected to the technique and began providing interrogators with information that led to the disruption of several planned attacks, said John Kiriakou, who served as a CIA interrogator in Pakistan.

The waterboarding of Abu Zubaydah got him to talk in less than 35 seconds. The technique, which critics say is torture, probably disrupted “dozens” of planned al-Qaida attacks, said John Kiriakou, a leader of the team that captured Zubaydah, a major al-Qaida figure.

Those “innocent” ones? The ones that believe in killing as many infidels as possible for “Allah”? I don’t give a fuck if they have to force feed a terrorist cockholster an ocean full of water to get information.

I hope those other reports get released. Proof like that is tailor-made for asshats like you.

      By the way, I’m agnostic.

I visited your site—that’s 2 minutes of my life I’ll never get back—and was treated to some of the most narcissistic, convoluted bullshit I’ve ever read. I got as far as “I’m able to gratuitously absorb words that cannot be used in every day conversation, because no one else understands the meaning of” tripe in “The impracticable me” and had to give up before I busted a gut laughing.

There’s one thing you left out of your list of “I cans”. You can’t explain how you’re able to type that shit wearing a straightjacket.
