Cindy Sheehan Pimps for Muslim Brotherhood Thugs

Cindi-al-Sheehani has gone from prostituting her brave son’s sacrifice to the Left, to joining in support for Muslim Brotherhood slugs on trial in Egypt:

CAIRO, Egypt – Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan joined a protest Wednesday seeking the support of Egypt’s first lady in ending a military trial of members of the country’s largest Islamic organization.
Under the watchful eyes of dozens of black-clad and helmeted anti-riot police, some 50 heavily veiled wives and children of 40 senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood detained for the past year, gathered in front of the headquarters of first lady Suzanne Mubarak’s National Council Women carrying banners calling for their release.

“I am here to protest the trial of civilians in front of a military tribunal as this is a violation to international law,” said Sheehan, who gained fame in the U.S. for her sit-in outside President Bush’s Texas ranch following the death of her son in Iraq.
“As a mother of a son who was killed in the war, I presented a letter to Ms. Suzanne Mubarak to realize how those women and children are suffering.”

The fact that terrorists were responsible for SPC Casey Sheehan’s death, and are responsible for atrocities–world wide– is lost on this airhead.

……In December 2006, the government engaged in a wide-ranging crackdown against the Brotherhood, the country’s largest opposition force — which holds one-fifth of the seats in the parliament — targeting in particular businessmen known to financially support the group.

In February 2007, President Hosni Mubarak ordered 40 of the organization’s members to be tried by a military tribunal on charges of money laundering and terrorism. The court’s verdict is expected Feb. 26.

According to the Brotherhood, 3,245 members of their organization were arrested in 2007.

Egypt is just another Islamic nation-state that spawns terrorists. 9/11 ringleader Mohammad Atta and 1993 World Trade Center attack plotter “Blind Sheik” Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, hail from Egypt.

Convicting members of the Muslim Brotherhood is a coin toss. In late 2007, some of them were let go:

Egyptian lawyer for the Muslim Brotherhood group reported that an Egyptian military tribunal dropped charges of terrorism against 40 members of the Muslim Brotherhood on Sunday.

The court had advised the defense team that they had dropped the charge and altered a separate charge of leadership of a banned organization to membership of a banned organization, said lawyer Abdel Moniem Abdel Maqsoud.
He advised caution and said the defense team needed time to determine the implications of the court move, but said that legally dropping charges of terrorism would usually also mean dropping charges of money laundering.

Abdel Maqsoud added that a first and general reading of this decision suggests it is a move to lightening of a possible sentence but how much, and to what extent, is not obvious. As we said at the beginning, this is a political issue, and is not based on law, he continued.

In February, Egypt transferred 40 members of the group, the most powerful opposition group, to military court, included among them was Khairat el-Shater, the Muslim Brotherhood third-in-command.
The men were the first Brotherhood members to appear before a military court since 2001. Six of the men are out of the country and are being tried in absentia.

The Brotherhood holds about a fifth of the seats in parliament through members elected as independents, but the government calls it an outlawed organization and regularly subjects its members to harassment and detention.

If it’s a ‘banned organization’, why in the hell are they holding seats in the Egyptian parliament?

Suspected militants are tried before military judges, where they have little chance of receiving justice; public demonstrations are banned; and it is illegal to criticize the president in published statements. Add to the list the routine torture of perceived political dissidents; a shoot-to-kill policy against the extremist strand of the Islamic movement; state control of a majority of 60,000 mosques in order to censor sermons; and a lack of free elections.

Isn’t that ironic? An Islamic regime implementing authoritarian policies against brutal hardline Islamic militants, some of whom hold government postitons.

In any case, Cindy Sheehan will spare no one from her idiocy. Here’s hoping that she pisses off Mubarak enough to draw some prison time.
