Congressman Jeff Van Drew spoke with President Trump this week after announcing his decision to join the Republican Party; saying “socialism has no place in the United States of America.”

“There are a few points I really wanted to make… I’ve been a Democrat for a lot of years. For years I’ve given everything to my people in my district,” said Congressman Jeff Van Drew.

“This is the greatest country on the face of the earth… I don’t want anybody to ever tell me there isn’t American exceptionalism. Again, I’m a capitalist. Socialism has no place in the United States of America. This country can afford everyone opportunity,” he added.

New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew, who has strongly opposed the Democrats’ impeachment efforts, is leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a member of the Republican Party after meeting with President Donald Trump.

“Van Drew’s congressional and campaign staff were informed he was planning to switch parties on Saturday, according to Democratic sources,” Politico reported. “The question was now when, not if, Van Drew was joining the Republican Party, according to several Democrats with knowledge of the ongoing conversations.”

Van Drew reportedly met “at length” with Trump on Friday and his decision to switch parties is supposed to be officially announced in the near future, a top GOP source told Politico.

The Washington Post reported that his decision to switch parties delivered “a political jolt to Democrats ahead of next week’s expected vote to impeach the president.”

News of Van Drew’s defection went viral online moments after the story broke with many noting that the move is highly damaging to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment efforts.

Federalist co-founder Sean Davis tweeted: “Nancy Pelosi isn’t just hemorrhaging votes for her impeachment gambit, she’s now facing wholesale defections from the Democrat party because of its impeachment hysteria.”

……Bryan Dean Wright, a Democrat and former CIA officer, responded to the news by writing on Twitter: “Turns out people get tired of defending a party that’s spent the past three years embracing Socialists, anti-Semites, and hysteria.”

Americans in general are fed up with leftwing socialist bullshit. The Dem party turned Left years ago and never looked back.

Pandering to illegal aliens, refusing to support border security, cowardice in the face of  Islamic terrorism, disastrous foreign policy, corruption, violence and rhetoric, abject hatred of patriots, and anti-white bigotry have become part of the Dem party platform.

Their impeachment shitshow is the icing on the crazy cake.  The Dems are so unhinged over the 2016 election that they want to literally shred the Constitution (again) and nullify the votes of 63 million Americans.

The Dems have sealed their fate for the 2020 election. President Trump will be reelected and their heads will explode. An added bonus would be the loss of more Dem seats in Congress. The less there are of them, the less damage they can do to the country.

Welcome to the GOP, Mr. Van Drew.
