This week, a Berlin judge praised Yasemin Acar, a pro-Hamas activist convicted of assaulting police, resisting arrest, and defaming officers, with the words: “High respect for your dedication.” He then acquitted her of chanting Hamas’s genocidal slogan, “From the river to the sea…”
In the courtroom, Acar received cheers. Outside, over 100 supporters rallied in her defense. This wasn’t a fringe event. It was a sanctioned, public spectacle where a violent extremist was treated not as a threat to democracy—but as a misunderstood rebel with a cause.
Let’s stop pretending this is normal.
Let’s stop pretending Germany still has a functioning moral compass.
Who Is Yasemin Acar?
Yasemin Acar isn’t some marginal protester who got carried away. She’s a radicalized ideologue who went from helping Ukrainian refugees in 2022 to defending Hamas after the October 7th massacres. Her social media accounts glorify Islamist violence. She calls Germany a fascist state. She hasn’t missed a single anti-Israel hate march in Berlin since the attacks.
She threw an umbrella at police. She chanted Hamas slogans. She celebrated her trial as a victory.
And the judge celebrated her, too.
Instead of condemnation, she received a €1,800 fine—barely a slap on the wrist for attacking state officers—and a public endorsement from Judge Philipp Berkholz, who told her: “You’re probably speaking for some people.”
Yes. She is.
That’s exactly the problem.
Germany’s Collapse into Moral Relativism
In Germany today, waving a swastika or denying the Holocaust will land you in prison. And rightly so.
But shouting slogans used by Hamas—who butchered, raped, and burned Israeli civilians alive—is now just “political speech,” according to a Berlin courtroom. But in Germany, the political class stays silent. The media tiptoes around the issue. And the courts protect “activists” who glorify terror.
The international message is clear: Germany is no longer serious about fighting antisemitism. It has confused tolerance with appeasement, justice with indulgence, and dissent with incitement.

“Never Again” Is Ringing Hollow
Germany has built its post-war identity around “Never Again.” But that phrase means nothing if the courts applaud those chanting for Israel’s destruction. It means nothing if antisemitic violence is dismissed as “provocation,” and Hamas slogans are waved away as “historical geography.”
Yasemin Acar didn’t just walk out of that courtroom with a reduced fine. She walked out with a green light. She was told her violence, her hate, and her loyalty to genocidal ideology are not just tolerated—they are, in the eyes of a German judge, admirable.
This should be a national scandal. Instead, it’s just Tuesday.
If Germany still believes in its democratic principles, now is the time to prove it. Because the rest of the world is watching—and what it sees is not justice. It’s a society surrendering to its own enemies.

They take over streets and neighborhoods, in a show of force. They will not assimilate or follow the laws and traditions of the Western country they inhabit. Their purpose is to take over. It’s an invasion, not migration.
These hostile foreigners don’t share your values. They want to exploit and kill you. They will not leave. They demand that you change to their way of life.
They state their intentions clearly and without any consequence from the government officials who placate instead of using law enforcement and “intelligence gathering” to handle the real threat to their country.
Euro government officials need a good dose of the consequences of their open arms policies for terrorists. They won’t understand until it happens to them, their children, their friends, their neighborhoods. They have exclusive residences and 24 hour security. The human garbage needs to be dumped at their homes.
