The lead government watchdog for the IRS revealed Thursday that computer evidence was erased during the investigation into the agency’s targeting scandal, months after the IRS was told to preserve documents.
J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, testified to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that IRS employees erased computer backup tapes shortly after officials discovered thousands of emails related to the tax agency’s Tea Party scandal had been lost.
As many as 24,000 emails were lost because 422 backup tapes were “magnetically erased” around March 4, 2014.
George said his office found no direct evidence the tapes were destroyed to hide information from Congress or law enforcement. But the destruction nevertheless defied a preservation order, and is sure to raise suspicions over motive.
That’s bullshit on stilts. The IRS has covered its ass and Lerner’s ass ever since the story broke on the illegal, unconstitutional targeting of Tea Party patriots.
“We have been misled. There has been evidence that has been destroyed,” committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said Thursday.
You’ve been lied to.
George said those tapes “likely contained” 2010 and 2011 emails to and from former IRS official Lois Lerner, who has emerged as a central figure in congressional investigations. He said they will “most likely never be recovered.”
How convenient.
……Fox News is told the destruction of evidence also occurred about three weeks before IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified to Congress that they would provide documents to Congress.
Further, the IG review found that the IRS never looked at five of the six potential places where the emails might have been stored — including the server.
They never looked in the servers because they fully intended to delete all traces from the servers anyway.
Under Obama’s direction, the IRS didn’t have any trouble defining his preference of sympathetic leftwing groups over Tea Party/GOP organizations.
Obama met with top IRS official William Wilkins before the targeting began. As a matter of fact, a Cincinnati IRS employee testified that it was quite clear the orders came from D.C.

According to 2012 emails obtained by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, top Internal Revenue Service Obamacare official Sarah Hall Ingram discussed confidential taxpayer information with senior Obama White House officials.
Lois Lerner, then head of the IRS Tax Exempt Organizations division, also received an email alongside White House officials that contained confidential information. More emails uncovered Lerner’s role in the conspiracy, including proof that she gave confidential taxpayer information to the FEC, violating federal law.
J. Christian Adams, the former DOJ attorney who blew the whistle on Holder’s refusal to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation, was himself targeted by the IRS for critical articles he published in Pajamas Media.
The IRS engaged in the deliberate suppression, harassment, and intimidation of patriotic and conservative groups, and those who focus on the Constitution and criticize government spending, with Obama’s blessing.
All of the IRS officials, including the new IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, have lied, spun, denied, and openly smirked at any attempt to get at the truth.
Bottom line: No one in the entire Obama regime, including the Corruptocrat-in-Chief is being held accountable for their crimes. Instead, they’re paraded in front of Congressional hearings where hot air passes for real prosecution because the GOP lacks the balls to stop them.

Americans are too dumbed down to care that government “leadership” is openly committing crimes.
Sadly, most of the American population is too dumbed down to care that their government now OPENLY commits crimes and ADMITS to destruction of evidence when the crimes are noticed. No one will go to jail, not from the elitists above the law. Absolute moral decline, no one expects better. I think 250 years ago in Boston, they would have been tarred and feathered.
