John Kerry’s Right to Be Stupid

The question from the audience that provoked Kerry’s answer, was asked by a muzzie radical member of JUMA, a group of young jihadists in Germany.

Joe Gaffemeister Biden has some competition.

From the Daily Caller.

Secretary of State John Kerry offered a defense of freedom of speech, religion and thought in the United States on Tuesday telling German students that in America “you have a right to be stupid if you want to be.”

“As a country, as a society, we live and breathe the idea of religious freedom and religious tolerance, whatever the religion, and political freedom and political tolerance, whatever the point of view,” Kerry told the students in Berlin, the second stop on his inaugural trip as secretary of state.

“People have sometimes wondered about why our Supreme Court allows one group or another to march in a parade even though it’s the most provocative thing in the world and they carry signs that are an insult to one group or another,” he added.

“The reason is, that’s freedom, freedom of speech. In America you have a right to be stupid – if you want to be,” he said, prompting laughter.

Hey stupid: Last I checked, our right to freedom of speech was guaranteed by the Constitution, not the Supreme Court. It’s the job of the Supreme Court to uphold the Constitution and all the amendments.

Funny Kerry should mention the freedom of speech thing, especially when he thinks the media shouldn’t give equal time to ‘stupid people’ who actually believe in the Constitution—like the Tea Party. Prior to the trouncing the Dems got in the 2010 mid-term elections, Kerry opined that voters who didn’t goosestep to the Dem narrative are ‘uninformed’.

While those German students are yucking it up over Kerry’s ‘Americans are stupid’ remark, they should know that he’s exhibited weapons-grade stupidity himself.  He perjured himself before Congress during the “Winter Soldier” investigation, schmoozed with the Communist government of Vietnam, “reenacted” his wartime adventures with his own movie camera, conned the Navy out of 4 Purple Hearts for Band-Aid “wounds” (one of which was self-inflicted), threw someone else’s medals over the White House fence during an anti-war publicity stunt, and insulted Iraq war veterans.

The good think about the combination of the First Amendment and public forum, is that it gives idiots like Kerry an opportunity to put his right to stupidity on full display.
