Judicial Insanity: Dallas Man Charged With Inducing Eichenwald’s Seizure Over the Internet

Newsweek senior writer Kurt Eichenwald threatened legal action Friday against a Twitter user he accused of causing him to have an epileptic seizure.

Mr. Eichenwald, 55, said he’s taking time off from social media in order to concentrate on suing over a supposed seizure-spurring tweet he received Thursday evening.

“Last night, for the second time, a deplorable aware I have epilepsy tweeted a strobe at me with the message “you deserve a seizure’ on it,” Mr. Eichenwald wrote to his Twitter followers on Friday. “It worked.”

“All I will be tweeting for the next few days are copies of documents from the litigation, police reports etc. Once we have the lawsuit filed, we will be subpoenaing Twitter for the identity of the individual who engaged in this cross-state assault,” he added.

The Twitter user behind Thursday’s tweet, “@jew_goldstein,” has since been suspended from the website.

While aggressively covering Donald Trump’s presidential campaign for Newsweek, Mr. Eichenwald announced in October that he nearly had a mild epileptic episode after a Twitter user purposely sent him a video containing flashing images. Now in the wake of the second such incident in as many months, the reporter insisted this week that he’ll be pursuing legal action over the most recent stunt.

Believe it or not, the prankster was arrested by the fucking FBI.

John Rayne Rivello, 29, of Salisbury, Maryland was arrested this morning on a criminal complaint filed in filed in the Northern District of Texas. Rivello was arrested for tweeting a strobe light .gif at the journalist Kurt Eichenwald, triggering a seizure.

As part of a search warrant, the FBI found direct messages Rivello sent to other Twitter users saying “I hope this sends him into a seizure,” “Spammed this at [victim] let’s see if he dies,” and “I know he has epilepsy.” 

First of all, Eichenwald is a certified nutcase. His rambling, bat-shit crazy rant during an interview with Tucker Carlson is a classic study of a mental breakdown.

Eichenwald claimed to be in communication with someone at the CIA who gave him ‘secret messages’ about Trump, and the conversation fell apart from there.  That’s when he also claimed to have had an epileptic seizure brought on by criticism on Twitter after the interview.

Eichenwald has loose screws that need to be tightened with a pharmaceutical wrench.

So, John Rivello is being charged with “with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon” because he posted a Tweet to idiot Kurt Eichenwald, which supposedly gave him a ‘seizure’? Seriously?? Hey, my blood pressure goes sky high whenever I read or hear of such ridiculous waste of taxpayers’ money, and come to think of it, the daily stupidity of libtards really gets my blood boiling too. Is there any statute in your legal repertoire to provide legal recourse? If you’re going to use your official capacity to pander to the hurt feelings of ‘triggered’ liberal snowflakes, the justice system is in sorry shape.
