Left-wing vandals have targeted Trump’s newly renovated Reflecting Pool by the Lincoln Memorial, damaging the blue sealant applied at the bottom to maintain the pool’s blue color.
President Trump undertook the project to restore the filthy green water basin, built in the 1920s, which has been marred by issues, including sinking and leaking into the swamp beneath.
This is after Obama’s failed project in 2012, which had a massive cost of $34 million, more than twice what Trump is paying. Obama’s botched repairs took nearly two years to complete, while Trump’s are already finished after starting in April.
The beautiful reflecting pool was reopened with a glasslike reflection earlier this month, and TDS-infected residents of the far-left city of Washington, DC, are losing their minds over the beautification.
According to independent journalist Emily Miller, a man was arrested after jumping into the pool today and cutting out a “huge piece” of the sealant.
Miller also filmed a man being detained by Park Police. “He grabbed the hose that female National Park Service workers were using to clear the algae,” Miller said.
Additionally, per Nick Sortor, the US Park Police are now investigating vandalism on the sealant that reads “86 47.”
“86 47” is a threat to ‘eliminate/kill’ the 47th president.
Similar markings were made by left-wingers in the grass on the National Mall last week, prompting a separate investigation by Park Police.
Vandals have repeatedly targeted the National Mall this summer, leaving “8647” markings, damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and, in one disturbing case, writing a message in blood on the Washington Monument, federal officials said.
The Department of the Interior warned that the incidents appear to be part of a growing trend as President Donald Trump’s restoration work on the National Mall draws left-wing protests and vandalism.
“Unfortunately, this summer has seen a significant increase in vandalism to the National Mall – for example, several 8647 markings, a person writing words in their own blood on the Washington Monument and the cutting of fuel lines around the Great American State Fair,” Interior Department communication director Katie Martin told Fox News Digital.
The vandalism intensified after Trump ordered the restoration and repainting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Protesters responded by leaving multiple “razor-blade cuts” in the pool and removing fencing before tossing pieces into the water, according to officials.
Fox News Digital reported that the first known incident at the Reflecting Pool happened June 9.
Interior officials said they initially did not publicize it because they believed it was isolated and did not want to encourage copycats.
“At the time of the June 9 incident, the vandalism was under investigation and believed to be isolated. So as not to encourage deranged individuals, we did not announce what we hoped to be an isolated incident,” Interior Department communication director Katie Martin told Fox News Digital about the initial vandalism on the Reflecting Pool.
But the damage did not stop.
“It wasn’t until several days thereafter that there were recurring cases and videos of people ripping at the coating began to circulate,” she added. “We then knew this was not an isolated incident, but a new trend to attempt to damage the Reflecting Pool.”
Officials said the National Mall has also been marked multiple times with “8647.”
In another incident, an individual used their own blood to write “I’ve come” on the Washington Monument, according to a police report.
………The Reflecting Pool was vandalized the same day it reopened after restoration and repainting.
According to a police report reviewed by Fox News Digital, the first perpetrator left “razor-blade-like slashes along the liner in the southern middle section of the pool.”
The damage stretched more than 300 feet, with “some cuts that were slits while other sections measuring roughly 6–15 inches had been cut out entirely.”
The same day, pieces of surrounding metal fencing were removed and thrown into the pool, along with a broken black chain near the fence, according to the same report.
Five assholes have ben arrested for vandalizing the reflecting g pool, along with 67-year-old former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, who claimed he reached into the water to touch a piece of the pool’s recently installed coating that had become partially detached.
They’re also pouring corrosive chemicals into the pool.
Mentally ill far-left activists are even protesting the removal of algae in the pool, wearing shirts and carrying signs that read, “Go Algae” and “Team Algae,” the Gateway Pundit reported.
Pro-algae protesters were out again on Sunday, dressed in dinosaur costumes and chanting “Let’s grow algae, let’s grow.” President Trump briefly interrupted the protest with a flyover around the pool in Marine One.
