I am one of the latest posters to be banned from Charles Johnson’s site, Little Green Footballs. I removed him from my blogroll and will no longer link to or visit his site. Charles was never a really a conservative… he is a 9/11 Democrat.
About 2 years ago, he got on an anti-creationist tangent that pretty much consumed his daily life. I’m agnostic, so it didn’t bother me.
But since then, he’s gone into the abyss of a pre-9/11 mindset, and it’s flooded every niche of his blog.
It’s a shame because LGF used to be a good site. Johnson was one of the bloggers who exposed Dan Rather’s ‘genuine’ George W. Bush National Guard memos, and the enhanced Iranian missiles fauxtography.
I was booted for supporting the Tea Parties, and critiquing the downward spiral of his site:
I watch Glenn Beck and visited LGF for basically the same reasons: to get commentary, information, and news on politics and issues that as a Republican, I feel are important.
I’m not sure when the turning point was, but LGF has morphed from a site where united conservatives could gather against the lunacy of the MSM, to something unrecognizable. It’s now comprised of a lot of backbiting targeted at people who take national security, Islamofascism, and the socialist Obamanation seriously. There are some people on here who think because I’m an Iraq War/Army veteran, outspoken Obama critic, anti-illegal alien, and a gun owner, I’m a “security threat” to the Obama State.
It’s sad and pathetic.
His myopic opposition to the Tea Parties is simply unbelievable. He echoes Susan Roesgen’s batshit crazy rants with accusations of ‘racism’ and ‘nazi’, and recently got into a flame war with Glenn Beck.
It started over Johnson’s implication that Beck’s support of the patriotic Tea Parties might ‘incite violence’ and said, “It kind of drags down the discourse to a level that I, for one, am not comfortable with.”
This is coming from someone who engages in spit-flecked diatribes and bans all opposing discourse outright.

The tiff between Beck and Johnson has exploded into a ridiculous “civil war”.
The Left must be laughing its collective ass off.
Didn’t Charles Johnson bother to find out that the woman who shouted “burn all the books” at that particular Tea Party, was a leftwing nutjob hellbent on discrediting the protest and feeding the maws of the MSM? (She was)
His erratic behavior has alienated him from people like Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugged and Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch. (http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/025667.php) He’s also attacked other prominent sites and bloggers: Ace of Spades, Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, Protein Wisdom, Powerline, Mark Steyn, Geert Wilders, and Dennis Praeger.
He tolerates no dissent, real debate is forbidden, and his enemies list rivals Bill Clinton’s FBI files. He sees nazis behind every door, and probably hiding under his bed. And those are just the people who don’t agree with him 100%. He’s been known to ban people for disagreeing with him on other sites. The man’s paranoia level is skyhigh.
Johnson has become increasingly sycophantic towards Islamofascism, which is ironic given the fact that he received death threats from jihadis, right around the time when CAIR wanted to get LGF classified as a “hate site”.
He has whole-heartedly embraced Janet Napolitano’s idiotic “right-wing” threat assessment, assigned creationists to be bigger villains than terrorists, and disparages ordinary citizens who protest Obama’s socialist policies.
Just what the leftwing needs; an Andrew Sullivan clone.
Look guys, here’s the scoop. I began wearing my wife underwear last year in order to make myself “feel more sexy”. They are very tight and now I have my little green footballs in a bind and it is making me a very touchy little bitch.
I underwent a complete castration last fall and it has made me a little more hormonal than usual.

I’d hardly call it a civil war. Charles would have to actually still be on the right to make it a civil war, if you ask me.
And yeah, the absolute complete opposition to the Tea Parties was what first really, really got me thinking, “What is up with this guy?”
I had already noticed he was obsessed with bringing down those “known” terrorists, creationists and people who believe in Intelligent Design. But, I figured, “Ok, he has a pet peeve. Seems petty and pathetic to go after them when we have other more pressing issues, but it is his blog.”
Then I got banned. According to Wild Irish Rose, if you point out you were banned, you are “whining about it”. I’m not whining about it. It was the best thing that ever happened to me in relation to blogs. Why would I whine about getting banned from a blog that does not practice what it preaches and is run by someone suffering from delusions? Why would I whine about being banned when being banned from LGF is a badge of honor and usually proves you were standing up for free speech? Why would I whine about being banned from LGF when the character of the people banned has been proven to be a huge notch above the character of the people who are allowed to stay?
No. I’m proud of it. I wish I had the opportunity to tell my banning story (although it is quite mundane) every day.

LOL! That’s about right. It’s a shame that he’s gone completely bonkers over even the slightest perceived disagreement.
You should see the knock-down-drag outs I get into with some of the raving leftwingnuts that pop up on here. I never shy away from a fight.
I think I’ve only banned two people since I started this blog in 2007. Both of them refused to answer my points and resorted to nothing more than the “nazi” or sexually-based insults. Believe me, I use plenty of epithets myself, when I feel the situation calls for it, but I always present facts, references, and viewpoints based on my experiences.
Johnson has gone from a respected blogger to an internet joke.

It’s gotten so bad “over there” at LGF that “dinging” the “wrong” comments will get an account blocked. That’s just crazy. “Bad crazy”… and that’s the term they like to attribute to those nutty DHS-defined right-wing terrorists that seem to only be at the evil (now with more Ronpollination!) Tea Party Protests.
Charles ain’t just a little touchy, he’s downright ornery.

“Ornery” is an understatement. Charles Johnson has gone batshit crazy. In the great scheme of things, his blog is only one of thousands, and his descent into megolomania will be relegated to the internet trashcan. There are an abundance of websites that reflect and support patriotism and a more conservative viewpoint. I will continue to patronize and enjoy them.
