The NAACP president, Benjamin Todd Jealous, came out from under his desk to offer up a half-assed statement:
……We concur with US Agriculture Secretary Vilsack in accepting the resignation of Shirley Sherrod for her remarks at a local NAACP Freedom Fund banquet.
Racism is about the abuse of power. Sherrod had it in her position at USDA. According to her remarks, she mistreated a white farmer in need of assistance because of his race.
……The reaction from many in the audience is disturbing. We will be looking into the behavior of NAACP representatives at this local event and take any appropriate action.
We thank those who brought this to our national office’s attention, as there are hundreds of local fundraising dinners each year.
“Racism is about the abuse of power.” Which is something the NAACP knows all too well. It’s a racist organization that makes a living exploiting skin color and pitching the race card.
“We will be looking into the behavior of NAACP representatives at this local event and take any appropriate action.” In other words, make sure the next round of disparaging comments towards white people by government officials, isn’t caught on tape. Were it not for that, she’d still have her job. The NAACP continues to make bigoted accusations about the Tea Party, with no apology in sight.
To quote Sherrod:
“Have you ever heard of anybody in the federal government losing their job?”
The Agriculture Department announced Monday…..that Sherrod had resigned.
“There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. “We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.
Hat tip to Andrew Breitbart at Big Government.
Kudos to Andrew for exposing and broadcasting the hypocrisy and double standards of the NAACP.
Here’s a video of a speech by Shirley Sherrod, USDA Rural Development Georgia State Director, delivered at the NAACP’s 20th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet.
The video shows Sherrod speaking of racial discrimination being a factor for how much help she would give to a white farmer.
“The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm, he took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing, but he had come to me for help. What he didn’t know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was, I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him.”
“I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farmland, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. So I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough,” Sherrod said. “So that when he, I assumed the Department of Agriculture had sent him to me, either that or the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and he needed to go back and report that I did try to help him.”
……”So I took him to a white lawyer that had attended some of training that we had provided because Chapter 12 bankruptcy had just been enacted for the family farm. So I figured if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him.”
Some poor, bankrupt, desperate—um what’s the term used by Black Panther thugs?—cracka was trying to show his superiority by asking for help.
This snooty, racist bitch, who oversees billions of dollars in federal funds, tells the blacks in attendance to get jobs at the USDA because they’ll never get fired:
“….There are jobs at USDA. And many times there are no people of color to fill those jobs because we shy away from agriculture. We hear the word ‘agriculture’ and think only of working in the fields. And you’ve heard of a lot of layoffs. Have you ever heard of anybody in the federal government losing their job? That’s all I need to say.
And if she’s doing the hiring, they’re sure to get preference.
Throughout her speech, the amen crowd responds with “I know that’s right”, and “mmmm hmmm”. Gawd, you could swear you’re listening to a sermon from Jeremiah Wright’s pulpit.
By the way, Sherrod was involved in a class action suit scam (Pigford v Glickman) for black farmers that ended up with a $1.25 billion price tag: http://pajamasmedia.com/zombie/2010/07/27/pigford-v-glickman-86000-claims-from-39697-total-farmers/?singlepage=true
Thanks to B. Hussein Obama and Eric Holder we now have State-sponsored racism. The current regime is saturated with some of the most vile, abhorrent militants ever assembled in government. Obama and the NAACP are politicizing and exploiting the race card, in an attempt to discredit the opposition of the American people to the socialist monstrosity gripping this country.
Most of the MSM has chosen to ignore the New Black Panther Party and NAACP racism, opting instead to pursue phantom stories of black Dem congressmen being spat upon. The WaPo just decided to start coverage, after a half-assed explanation by their ombudsman and the incredulous response by online readers.
The NAACP has the gall to manufacture charges of ‘racism’ against the patriotic Tea Party movement, while ignoring the bigoted behavior and hate speech on the part of its own members and supporters.
Two words for the NAACP: Fuck. You.
