North Carolina Teacher Tells Student That He Could be Jailed for Criticizing Obama (UPDATE)

A teacher caught on video telling a student he could be arrested for speaking badly about Obama, was suspended Monday. The argument started after one student asked a question about the teacher’s  “fact of the day” that said ‘Romney was a bully back in high school’.

From FoxNews.

The student involved in the altercation speaks out.

The student involved in that incident, Hunter Rogers, and his mother, Gina Rogers, spoke out about this matter on today’s Fox and Friends.

……When he played the audio tape of his argument with the teacher for his mom, she said her immediate reaction was “shocked.” While Gina doesn’t think the teacher should have started a political discussion in the classroom, her biggest concern is that the teacher is not teaching students factual information.

Hunter responded, “I’ve been told in my life that you’d have to threaten the president to get arrested, and she kept telling me over and over again people were arrested for disrespecting and slandering the president. At the time, I wanted to laugh.”

The Salisbury Post reported that Social Studies Teacher Tanya Dixon-Neely told her students at North Rowan High School they could be jailed for criticizing Obama.

The video is nearly 10 minutes long and has gone viral on YouTube, with more than 178,000 views as of Monday afternoon. It was posted one week ago.

“Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?” she said in the video. “Do you realize you are not supposed to slander the president?”

Rowan-Salisbury school officials said Dixon-Neely has been suspended with pay.

Here’s a transcript of the exchange:

“Didn’t Obama bully somebody, though?”

“Not to my knowledge.”

A couple of students verified the story about Obama admitting that he bullied someone when he was younger. That didn’t sit very well with Dixon-Neely:

“Stop! Stop! Because there’s no comparison. He’s running for president. Obama is the president.”

One student attempted to argue for a fair, two-sided debate on the history of the candidates. Dixon-Neely shouted him down:

“You got to realize, this man is wanting to be what Obama is. There’s no comparison.”

“If you’re gonna talk trash about one side, you gotta talk trash about the other.”

“You will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.”

The student asserted his First Amendment right:

“I’ll say what I want.”

“Not about him, you won’t!”

The students tried to jar Dixon-Neely’s limited intellect:

“Whenever Bush was president, everybody talked shit about him.”

“Because he was shitty.”

Dixon-Neely continued with her rant, insisting that people were arrested for saying derogatory things about President Bush. The student responded by saying  opinions are protected, and unless you make threats, you cannot be arrested.

When it comes to being shitty, Obama has a corner on the market.

Another black race-baiting blowhard in the North Carolina school district, Diatha Harris, browbeat a white child in her class for having the audacity to support John McCain. Oh, by the way, the kid’s Dad is a Soldier.

There have been several instances where school teachers have used their classroom as a bully pulpit to push Obama’s Marxism, and in some cases have used lesson plans for that purpose. Other teachers had children perform praises to Dear Leader in propaganda videos and sing “Jesus Loves the Little Children”,  replacing Jesus’ name with Obama’s.

Dixon-Neely is one of those sub-standard shit-for-brains who has no business anywhere near a classroom.   Her whole universe centers around skin color and just how much she can peddle race as a ‘teachable moment’.   The lesson here is that the Black Jesus is off limits to criticism, but white Republicans are fair game.

These schoolhouse racists need to be kicked out on their community-organizing asses.

This is Dixon-Neely’s contact address.

I read this morning that the teacher was suspended yesterday. I fell off my horse when I read that. Could it be that even the liberals can no longer stomach Obama? Or are the liberals starting to recognize their very blatant hypocrisy?

If you send your children to public school this is what they are being taught. Socialist feel good crap is all that can be expected in public school class rooms today. Yes, there are bad private schools; however, private schools provide a choice that cannot be found in public schools. There are some good texts on how to approach private schools and find the one that is right for you and your children. At the end of the day, private schools answer to their customers, public schools answer to liberal agendas.

  4. The sad part is that it has become acceptable for supposedly college educated folks to talk like this teacher. Did anyone notice how the attorney for the parents of Trayvon Martin speaks? Same thing, Damper hit the nail on the head, a mix of ghetto and Ebonics. Sad, indeed.

  5. What I heard was a class with a incompataint teacher. No control over class or topic. Her grammar was getto mixed with ebonics . Why would a school hire anyone with the lack of ability to communicate. It was clear she was defending BHO for her own personal views . The student was being antaganistic and set this incompataint teacher up. The POTUS is public severant and works for the people of the USA.

  6. Saw this and, even as jaded as I am in this area, was dumbstruck.

An incredible aount of ignorance, intolerance, and pettiness displayed by this teacher. Absolutely disgraceful.

Of course, I’m SURE that this was an isolated incident. Nothing like this has happened in countless public schools, all across the country, where the students didn’t or weren’t able to tape it and upload it to YouTube.
    This was a once-in-a-lifetime event.
    An Outlier.
    I’m sure of it.
