White House officials held talks with representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood in Washington this week, as the Islamist group threw itself into the fray in Egypt’s presidential election.
The meeting on Tuesday with low-level National Security Council staff was part of a series of US efforts to broaden engagement with new and emerging political parties following Egypt’s revolution last year, a US official said.
The White House pointed out that Republican Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain, and other US lawmakers and officials had also met with Brotherhood representatives in Egypt and elsewhere in recent months.
“We believe that it is in the interest of the United States to engage with all parties that are committed to democratic principles, especially nonviolence,” said National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor.
“In all our conversations with these groups, we emphasize the importance of respect for minority rights, the full inclusion of women, and our regional security concerns.”

As for McCain’s and Graham’s Egyptian trip, Rick Moran wrote this at American Thinker:
No doubt they’re dancing a jig at MB headquarters. Are McCain and Graham actually being snowed by the Brotherhood, or are they just making nice so that the 19 Americans set to be tried in a kangaroo court next week are released without having to go to jail?
I hope it’s the latter. To believe that the MB has changed their spots is to believe in fairy tales. This is true especially since they have not backed down one iota from their goal of destroying Israel.
The Muslim Brotherhood may be talking in soothing tones today about not altering Egyptian society immediately. But let’s revisit this question in 2 or three years and see where Egypt is. It is likely that Graham and McCain will look even more idiotic than they appear now.
The problem with those two RINOs is that they occasionally they allow their brains to go wandering off without a chaperone. McCain had a habit of pandering to LaRaza, and Graham has supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Graham joined the likes of moonbat Harry Reid to have fits over the Rev. Terry Jones’ Koran burning.
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war. During World War II, we had limits on what you could say if it would inspire the enemy.”
I can’t imagine our WWII military hierarchy wetting their pants over Soldiers or civilians burning the doctrinal manual of the enemy. Graham’s concern over free speech limits doesn’t extend to Islamic terrorist organizations and their supporters who operate free and clear in this country. They burn bibles and American flags, use internet servers to spread their terrorist jihad and inflammatory rhetoric, issue fatwas from their mosques, hoist signs during protests with “death to America” and “behead those who insult Islam” printed on them, but Graham doesn’t see that as “inspiring the enemy”.
The Dhimmi “community organizer” in the Oval Office takes the kowtowing shit to a whole new level; making it a point to celebrate the holidays of a brutal Islamic subculture, making apologies to them, and forcing Army Commanders to do the same.
So far, that so-called “Arab Spring” in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East, isn’t evolving into the push for democracy some people imagined. The Muslim Brotherhood is just one of the terrorist groups taking advantage of the chaos, and Obama is more than glad to fund them with our tax money and give them an audience at the White House.
Hopefully, we’ll get a REAL leader in office after November who has the balls to tell the muzzies to go to hell; America will not apologize for doing what it takes to kill our enemies, nor will we tolerate those who kiss their ass for hurting their feelings.
