“This was a political speech in the guise of a military plan […] This is a president trying to save a collapsed presidency.”
Now that ISIS has reared its ugly head, the SCOAMF- in- Chief has finally come up with a plan….sort of. It’s another idiotic frivolous ‘red line‘, which should send the ISIS thugs into spasms of laughter.
His eagerly awaited speech on ISIS was just more bullshit. He talked about airstrikes, which may get specific terrorists but does nothing to kill them enmasse. He still can’t bring himself to say “Islamic” terrorism, which is what it is. He espoused his usual Dhimmi idiocy that, ISIS “Is not Islamic….No religion condones the killing of innocents…”. Oh yes they do. Killing innocent Jews, Christians, and infidels regardless of age or gender is an acquired Islamic skill. He also referenced “Arab partners”. There is no such animal. All of them are just as culpable for terrorism as the ISIS and Al Qaeda. He thinks coordinating with Syrian rebels is a good idea. The problem with that is Syrian “rebels” are working with ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, conducting raids and attacks along the Lebanon border.
ISIS controls a lot of territory in Iraq and Syria. It has weapons—including mounted machine guns on mechanized infantry vehicles and armored personnel carriers—which have proven to be an effective force against the Iraqi Army and the Kurdish Peshmerga.
And this little gem is probably the most pathetic claim in his dissertation:
“When we helped prevent the massacre of civilians trapped on a distant mountain, here’s what one of them said. “We owe our American friends our lives. Our children will always remember that there was someone who felt our struggle and made a long journey to protect innocent people.”
I’m willing to bet that quote was a figment of Obama’s egotistical imagination. Those Yazidi refugees who fled to Mt. Sinjar to escape ISIS were dying from disease and starvation, while Obama took his sweet time on the golf course before lobbing a few rounds to chase away the “JV” team. Army SpecOps made an insertion onto the mountain, found that there were less refugees than previously thought, and that many of them had been able to escape. When the Yazidi got back to northern Iraq, they were promptly attacked and slaughtered by waiting ISIS butchers. So much for protection.
Obama also downplayed the ISIS threat saying: “And ISIL is certainly not a state.” Which doesn’t jive with the facts and certainly not how the Iraqi government feels about the situation. Speaking at a press conference with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Iraqi Kurdish President Masoud Barzani said: “We are not fighting a terrorist organization, we are fighting a terrorist state.”
Obama tried to make it look as if has a chin: “If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven.” Newsflash, mutherfucker. They’ve found a safe haven right here and you’ve done nothing to get them out.
As for Iraq, ISIS was able to gain a foothold thanks to Obama’s short-sighted tactics. Expect Afghanistan to suffer the same fate.
GW Bush was correct about leaving Iraq too soon:
“I know some in Washington would like us to start leaving Iraq now. To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we’re ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al-Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”
Whatever Obama plans on doing, it’s too little, too late, and quite frankly he doesn’t have the skill set to deal with the job of being a real commander-in-chief.
