Things already fell apart just a couple of days after his PR tour.
Israel said it fired into Syria on Sunday and destroyed a machinegun position in the Golan Heights from where shots had been fired at Israeli soldiers in a further spillover of the Syrian civil war along a tense front.
It was not immediately clear whether Israel held Syrian troops or rebels responsible for what a spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said had been a deliberate attack on Israeli patrols in the occupied territory.
Israeli forces “destroyed a Syrian machine gun nest that fired twice in the last 24 hours on Israeli patrols operating to safeguard the border,” the spokesman, Ofir Gendelman, said on his Twitter page.
Shells have fallen several times inside Israeli-controlled territory during Syria’s civil war. Some of the incidents have drawn Israeli return fire.
Turkey just reneged on the deal to make nice with Israel even after B. Hussein’s “diplomatic coup” of talking Netanyahu into apologizing for protecting his own territory from muzzie jihadists posing as “humanitarian relief”.
Obama’s posturing is getting us lots of laughs on the international stage.
One of his brilliant statements this time around involved a comparison of Israeli-Palestinian relations to U.S.-Canada.
Sarah Palin observed:
Regarding this comparison, is he thinking it’s America or Canada that would be lobbing mortars across the other’s border to strike fear and kill innocents? And is he thinking that America is compared to Israel or Palestine? Or is it Canada that’s more like Israel or Palestine? Really, friends, if anyone else, ANYWHERE, had made such a claim, that person would be skewered and pilloried forever. Again, what is America’s leadership thinking?
Thinking isn’t Obama’s forte.
We’re stuck with this incompetent excuse for a leader until 2016. By then, North and South Korea will be back at war, Iran will have a viable nuke weapons program, and China will have surpassed us as an economic power.
Congratulations voters, we have so much to look forward to.
