Of ‘Dear Leaders’ and Kool-Aid

What we just witnessed is not an election, it’s was a annointing of cult leader. The off-the-charts idol worship of Junior Jesus-elect Obama has got to be one of the creepiest things since the Jonestown zombies took a big swig out of the special punchbowl.

But if there was any doubt as to how vacuous the ‘unity’ and ‘bi-partisan’ campaign slogans were, let this quell all doubt:

Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning – but he also left no doubt about who’s in charge of these negotiations. “I won,” Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation.

The exchange arose as top House and Senate Republicans expressed concern to the president about the amount of spending in the package. They also raised red flags about a refundable tax credit that returns money to those who don’t pay income taxes, the sources said.

Lots of ‘tingling’ legs in the White House Press Corps and the MSM. The media is a limpid pool of gush over his ONENESS.

Ali Wentworth (wife of ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos) on “Oprah”:

We watched everything and George was still doing all the anchoring for ABC and as soon Beyonce said “At Last…” George called me at home and he went, “Honey?” and I said “I know!” and we both started crying.

Matthews and Olbermann during the inauguration:

Chris Mathews: “Well, it sure as hell helps to be on MSNBC today. Let’s talk straight here: This is the network that has opened its heart to change. To change and its possibilities. Let’s be honest. These people watch this network out here.”

Keith Olbermann: “I was also going to say — not just to us. You heard other people say hello to each other, people who didn’t know each other, who are here for one single purpose and were thus already …

Kim Jong Il must be jealous of all the attention being lavished on Obama. The election got a whole paragraph in the North Korean press.

The state media in communist North Korea disposed of President Barack Obama’s inauguration in one paragraph Wednesday.
“Barack Obama took office as the 44th president of the United States on January 20,” the Korean Central News Agency reported.
“The inauguration ceremony was held at the Capitol building that day. He made an inaugural address there.”

That’s a fine way to treat an ideological comrade.
Competition sucks.

Note to the media: Get off your knees, wipe your chins, and get back to work.

  1. Obama screwed up

Never in American history has a new President screwed up so many times in his first three days as President.

Barack obama has set a world’s screw up record worthy of the Guiness Book of Records.

The next four years are going to be fun, fun FUN!!!
