I delayed commenting on Krugman’s latest splooge until after the 9/11 memorials. Aside from his repertoire of bashing opponents of Obama’s Keynesian socialist economics and his government-run health care law, Krugman set aside time to insult the nation’s leaders who demonstrated courage and determination in the face of unspeakable atrocities by muslim terrorists.
Says Krugman:
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te [sic] atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
……The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame.
Newsbusters has the rest of the execrable rant along with a scathing commentary.
Krugman, sensing that he was going to get his ass handed to him, disabled comments on the site.
The “unrelated war” is Iraq, of course. The bane of intellectually bankrupt leftwingnuts who opposed any effort to rid the planet of a WMD-weilding megalomaniac. There was nothing “unrelated” about Iraq’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism, violating U.N. resolutions, and engaging in WMD production. Even though Saddam was not directly involved in the 9/11 attacks themselves, he had WMDs, a WMD program, and terrorist connections.
They always complain that the Iraq war caused us to lose focus on the ‘important’ war in Afghanistan, but they’re lukewarm on that, too. Afghanistan, of course, was the major operating base for Bin Laden and his Al Qaeda thugs. We fought in Iraq and Afghanistan for all the right reasons.
As for THIS neocon: Islamic terrorists are trained, funded, supported, and indoctrinated across the Middle East. I’d have neutron- bombed 3/4ths of that cesspool on 12 September 2001. THAT’s how you fight a jihad. But I’m a former Soldier, not a politician.
Krugman is a mealy-mouthed jackass who doesn’t have the decency to be ashamed.
