Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.
Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.”
“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.
Obama has threatened to use executive orders to attack the Second Amendment.
The freshman congressman, who served one term in Congress in the mid-1990s, further labeled the possibility “an existential threat to this nation” because, he said, the purpose of the Second Amendment is to allow the people to protect themselves from tyranny.
……“Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible,” he added. “Under no circumstances whatsoever may the government take any action that disarms any peaceable person — much less without due process through an executive declaration without a vote of Congress or a ruling of a court.”
He concluded by claiming that an executive order would be not just “not just an attack on the Constitution,” but also an “attack on Americans.”
“If the president is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he said.
Will shit, Mr. Stockman, I’m glad at least one Republican has a little fire in their belly. Impeachment and prosecution of this out of control megalomaniac should have happened a long time ago.
Obama is a sociopathic narcissist, a criminal, and a liar. He and his regime has yet to be held accountable for the laundry list of crimes they’ve committed. The list of malfeasance is a lengthy one. Furthermore, the erosion of personal liberties in America has reached ominous levels and the way that most citizens—with the exception of the Tea Party—have submitted to the carnage is a sickening display of cowardice. Thomas Jefferson would not recognize the country he helped create.
Benghazi, Fast and Furious gunrunning, and the tyrannical hubris of ObamaCare is more than enough to have his scrawny ass hauled up in front of Congress.

A second GOP Congressman has suggested impeachment.
A second Republican congressman is suggesting that impeachment should be an option as President Barack Obama takes executive action to enact gun control measures.
In an interview with Florida’s “The Shark Tank,” Florida Republican Trey Radel addressed Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman’s statement that he might seek impeachment if Obama goes forward with executive action to bring about gun control measures.
“All options should be on the table,” Radel responded.
……“It is one of those times in our history, we are at this breaking point,” Radel added, going to to explain, “We have completely lost our checks and balances in this country, the Congress needs to hold the president accountable for the decisions that he’s making right now, and that why again, I would say that all options should be on the table.”
