Sharyl Attkisson Resigns From CBS

Background:

CBS’ Sharyl Attkisson first broke away from her network’s leftwing narrative and started asking some serious questions over Fast and Furious. For that, she was berated by DOJ spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler, and literally got screamed and cussed at by White House communications director Eric Schultz.

Then she really pissed off the hierarchy when she focused attention on Benghazi.

Obama doesn’t like being challenged on his incompetency and corruption, so he had her computer hacked.

From The Examiner.

……investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson reached an agreement to leave CBS News ahead of contract.

……Attkisson “had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsize influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting,” according to several sources.

During her two-decades-long tenure at the network, Attkisson had heavily scrutinized both Republican and Democrat administrations, Townhall said, and had won an Emmy for reporting shady Republican fundraising during the Bush administration.

She also exposed Hillary Clinton’s claim that she dodged sniper fire in Bosnia and received an Edward R. Murrow award and an Emmy for her reporting on Operation Fast and Furious in 2012.

……Attkisson began talking to CBS News President David Rhodes last April about getting out of her contract. According to Politico, she felt “increasingly stymied and marginalized at the network.”

“CBS News veteran Sharyl Attkisson is leaving the news division to pursue other endeavors. We appreciate her many contributions and we wish her well,” said Sonya McNair, senior vice president for communications for CBS News.

Attkisson, who described the split as “amicable,” said she will now devote time to her new book, tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington.”

“This is an incredible loss for CBS and no doubt another network’s gain,” Katie Pavlich said at Townhall. “Hopefully she’ll land at a place where her important work will be aired and promoted.”

Attkisson, Newsbusters’ Matthew Balan said, kept the spotlight on Fast and Furious and Benghazi, two of the many scandals surrounding the Obama administration, despite having trouble getting her stories aired.

Balan said CBS ignored her September 2013 scoop on Secretary of State John Kerry’s refusal to let Benghazi survivors testify before Congress.

Last August, CBS confirmed that her computer had been hacked “by an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions in late 2012.”

“Evidence suggests this party performed all access remotely using Attkisson’s accounts. While no malicious code was found, forensic analysis revealed an intruder had executed commands that appeared to involve search and exfiltration of data. This party also used sophisticated methods to remove all possible indications of unauthorized activity, and alter system times to cause further confusion. CBS News is taking steps to identify the responsible party and their method of access,” CBS said.

The announcement came on the heels of last year’s announcement that the Justice Department seized the emails and phone records of Fox News correspondent James Rosen.

I hope she joins the team at Fox News. That would really give the libtards aneurisms.
