The Minneapolis Police Department has just sworn in its first non-citizen officer, in addition to its first Somali female officer.
Ikran Mohamed and Lesly Vera were among nearly two dozen officers who were recently onboarded to join the police force, with the former being the department’s first Somali female to be recruited and the latter being the first non-citizen officer.
The report states that Vera is originally from Mexico but has resided in the US since she was 4 years old, calling Minneapolis her ‘home’ despite never becoming a citizen.
According to ABC News, MPD Chief Brian O’Hara cited a new change in the law, which now states that a ‘permanent resident’ who is a non-citizen can join the police department.
“There may be people who question it, but that’s completely ridiculous. There’s like I mentioned, there is a history in this country of people immediately on arrival to the country, enlisting in the military and serving,” he stated.
O’Hara may have thought he made a valid point. However, it is absurd to think that the immigrants who arrived in this country during its founding with the goal of creating prosperity should be likened to the modern invaders who come here to deplete American resources while fundamentally changing our culture.

The Minnesota Supreme Court on Wednesday added a new limit to the state’s self-defense law — prompting a stunned dissent that criticized the ruling as inimical to both humanity and law.
In the case itself, Earley Romero Blevins brandished his machete to fend off a group of three people, two men and a woman, at a train station in downtown Minneapolis. The woman and Blevins were arguing when one of the men pulled out a knife and threatened to “slit” Blevins’ throat — the threat that prompted the machete to be wielded in the first place. The other man later “aggressively walked up to Blevins,” who continued to wave his machete at the trio until they left. In the end, no one was physically harmed during the altercation.
Blevins was charged with two counts of felony second-degree assault-fear with a dangerous weapon. He claimed self-defense, an affirmative defense that admits the crime occurred but argues the crime was justified under the circumstances. Under Minnesota law, self-defense is defined as the use of “reasonable force” while “resisting or aiding another to resist an offense against the person.”
Judges in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, however, long ago created an element of self-defense law that requires a person “to retreat when reasonably possible.” Three courts in a row decided Blevins did not make the retreat necessary to claim self-defense. The state’s supreme court took the occasion to create a new rule extending the retreat exception to mere threats of force when using a “dangerous weapon.”
I wonder if the same rules will apply to the Minnesota cops.
The retards on the Minnesota Supreme Court expect a crime victim to accommodate their attacker instead of defending themselves. Every time the proglodytes in the court system, political arena, and general public, exude their social justice ideology, I really wish they would bump into one (or more) members of their protected class. The Islamic insurgency is flooding Minnesota. It’s become a hotbed for muzzie extremists. It leads the nation in would-be ISIS members. Minneapolis is a major recruiting center. The Somali population in the state is producing its fair share of terrorists. They travel overseas to join al-Shabab, the al-Qaida affiliate in Somalia, and ISIS in Syria and Iraq. There’s nothing to stop them from reentering the U.S. and committing more terrorist acts here.
