He finally admitted the attack was carried out by terrorist groups, now he’ll have to fess up that he knew damned well what it was the very day it happened.
Minutes after the American consulate in Benghazi came under assault on Sept. 11, 2012, the nation’s top civilian and uniformed defense officials — headed for a previously scheduled Oval Office session with Obama — were informed that the event was a “terrorist attack,” declassified documents show. The new evidence raises the question of why the top military men, one of whom was a member of the president’s Cabinet, allowed him and other senior Obama administration officials to press a false narrative of the Benghazi attacks for two weeks afterward.
Gen. Carter Ham, who at the time was head of AFRICOM, the Defense Department combatant command with jurisdiction over Libya, told the House in classified testimony last year that it was him who broke the news about the unfolding situation in Benghazi to then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The tense briefing — in which it was already known that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens had been targeted and had gone missing — occurred just before the two senior officials departed the Pentagon for their session with the commander in chief.
According to declassified testimony obtained by Fox News, Ham — who was working out of his Pentagon office on the afternoon of Sept. 11 — said he learned about the assault on the consulate compound within 15 minutes of its commencement, at 9:42 p.m. Libya time, through a call he received from the AFRICOM Command Center.
……Armed Services Chairman Howard “Buck” McKeon, R-Calif., sitting in on the subcommittee’s hearing with Ham last June, reserved for himself an especially sensitive line of questioning: namely, whether senior Obama administration officials, in the very earliest stages of their knowledge of Benghazi, had any reason to believe that the assault grew spontaneously out of a demonstration over an anti-Islam video produced in America.
……”In your discussions with General Dempsey and Secretary Panetta,” McKeon asked, “was there any mention of a demonstration or was all discussion about an attack?” Ham initially testified that there was some “peripheral” discussion of this subject, but added “at that initial meeting, we knew that a U.S. facility had been attacked and was under attack, and we knew at that point that we had two individuals, Ambassador Stevens and Mr. [Sean] Smith, unaccounted for.”
Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, a first-term lawmaker with experience as an Iraq war veteran and Army reserve officer, pressed Ham further on the point, prodding the 29-year Army veteran to admit that “the nature of the conversation” he had with Panetta and Dempsey was that “this was a terrorist attack.”
This is more evidence of Obama’s lying, therefore, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC will not report it.

definitely on target, though I am perplexed why we don’t hear this from mainstream commentators. Today Egyptians go to the polls to vote on a new constitution that will guarantee equality for women, and the protection of Christian minorities. One might think that those are bread and butter policy objectives for the U.S. government. And yet the Obama administration, and the abysmal failure of an ambassador that he had assigned to Cairo from 2011-2013, continue to favor the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization that has no interest in developing good relations with the U.S. or the West in general. For her massive bungling of U.S. policy, that resulted in her becoming a central issue for the Egyptian public in the July revolution, the U.S. ambassador was appointed to the position of Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs — allowing her to do on a larger scale what she managed to do in her two years in Egypt. Obama may just be taking the advice of the “experts,” but he is the captain of the ship and is responsible for U.S. policy’s during his watch. So her assignment to her new position must be taken as an affirmation that the current administration will continue the same misguided policies that led to Benghazi, the Egyptian debacle, Syria, etc etc etc. And the consulate in Alexandria remains a Benghazi waiting to happen. Normal operations are temporarily suspended, but it has not been closed and sits in a much more indefensible location than that chosen for consulate Benghazi. I was absolutely not a fan of the Bush policies, but at least you could deduce a consistent logic in his policies. Now we continue a policy of quasi-imperialistic wars while at the same time putting our diplomatic muscle behind the groups that hold as a central goal the destruction of our nation, our system of government, and our tolerance for religious plurality.
John,
The problem with the Middle East is it’s populated with muslims, especially the radical zealot type. The so-called ‘Arab Spring’ started in January of 2011, and quickly dissolved into the standard violence, terrorism, and jihad associated with muslims. The cauldron of bloodshed should have surprised no one, but Hillary’s State Department was (and still is) chock full of incompetent, feckless morons.
Here’s a link to a video of Fox News reporter Bret Baier reading (at about 06:45 into the video) the emails from Ambassador Stevens to the State Department, one of which is just 4 hours prior to the attack. Each one plead for more security in the face of growing terrorist violence in the area. His pleas were brushed aside. As a matter of fact, in October 2012, it was revealed that Obama denied outright an urgent request to send more security to the embassy.
Obama and Hillary have a lot to answer for:
Who gave the order to stand down?
Who sent the drone to be used as a voyeur instead of a counter-attack weapon?
Who in the State Department made the decision to pull out three Mobile Security Deployment teams in August of 2012, telling the embassy to “do more with less”?
Who kept refusing to send extra security to the embassy?
Who exactly in the Obama regime went to all the trouble to scour the bowels of the YouTube library for an obscure video to blame for what was part of the muzzie rampage that had been going on for 21 months?
The depraved indifference over the lives of American embassy personnel who could have and should have been protected and evacuated months before the attack, is quintessential Obama.
But then, his foreign policies are as dicked up as a shit sandwich.
