The Communists Behind ObamaCare

Hat Tip to FrontPage Magazine.

More on the backgrounds of those who influence Obama’s Marxist agenda:

……(Obama’s) deeply held positions on healthcare were derived largely from the influence of a politically aggressive group of longtime Marxists whose worldviews were consistent with those Obama had already developed from other radical influences in his life. But before we examine who those particular Marxists were, let us establish, with certainty, what Obama’s long-term objectives for healthcare actually are.

As an Illinois state senator in 2003, Obama unambiguously told an AFL-CIO conference:

“I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer, universal healthcare [plan]…. That’s what I’d like to see.”

In a single-payer system, a government-run organization would manage the healthcare of every man, woman, and child in the United States—collecting all related fees and paying out all related costs.

At an SEIU Health Care Forum on March 24, 2007, Obama sang the same tune—though this time he conceded that the attainment of his ultimate vision might require a gradual, incremental approach:

“There’s going to be, potentially, some transition process. I can envision a decade out, or 15 years out, or 20 years out…”

In the summer of 2008, when a campaign audience member asked him to comment on single-payer healthcare, Obama candidly replied:

“If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system.”

……The primary figure who delivered Obama to the single-payer camp was Quentin Young, an 86-year-old retired physician who was a longtime friend and neighbor of Obama in Chicago. Young joined the Young Communist League as a teenager in the late 1930s. From the mid-1940s through the mid-1970s, he was closely associated with the Communist Party. In October 1968 he was called to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which was probing the extent of his knowledge about the riots that had erupted at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago two months earlier. The Committee accused Young of belonging to the Bethune Club, an organization for communist doctors; the group was named after Norman Bethune, a communist physician who devoted his services to the totalitarian regime of Mao Zedong.

Dr. Young was active in the radical movements of the Sixties and Seventies and led a small delegation to Communist North Vietnam in 1972. In the late 1970s, Young became associated with a Marxist organization known as the New American Movement, which was initially convened by Michael Lerner, an America-hating radical who counseled young people to explore the use of LSD and other hallucinogenic drugs as portals to a greater comprehension of socialist principles.

In 1980 Young founded the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, a single-payer lobby group whose Board of Directors he chairs to this day. In 1982 Young helped establish the Democratic Socialists of America, which, as the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International, asserts that “many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed.” In 1987 Young co-founded Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), a single-payer advocacy organization where he currently serves as national coordinator. In PNHP’s view, government-run healthcare “should be financed by truly progressive taxation.”

In 1995 Young attended the now-famous meeting at the Hyde Park home of former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, where Barack Obama was first introduced to influential locals as the hand-picked successor to Alice Palmer, a pro-Soviet radical who planned to vacate her Illinois State Senate seat in pursuit of a higher elected office. Young quickly became a friend and political ally of Obama, teaching the latter about the merits of single-payer healthcare. In a 2009 interview with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!, Young reminisced about the germination of his ideological kinship with the young Obama:

“Barack Obama, in those early days [as a state senator]—influenced, I hope, by me and others—categorically said single payer was the best way, and he would inaugurate it if he could get the support, meaning [Democratic] majorities in both houses, which he’s got, and the presidency, which he’s got. And he said that on more than one occasion….”

Another noteworthy influence on Obama’s views vis à vis healthcare has been Dr. Peter Orris, who co-founded Physicians for a National Health Program with Quentin Young. The son of a Communist Party member, Orris in the 1960s was a leader of Harvard University’s campus chapter of Students for a Democratic Society, the New Leftist organization that aspired to overthrow America’s democratic institutions and remake the nation’s government in a Marxist image. He later joined the Communist Party (CP) for more than two decades, before ultimately shifting his allegiance to the CP splinter group, Committees of Correspondence, where he remains a prominent figure to this day.

Other leading PNHP activists (and thus, key shapers of President Obama’s healthcare agendas) include the following:

■Joanne Landy, a high-ranking member of the Democratic Socialists of America
■Mark Almberg, a prominent member of the Illinois Communist Party since the 1970s
■Oliver Fein (PNHP President) and Steffi Woolhandler (PNHP Secretary), both of whom have spoken in favor of a single-payer healthcare system at the annual Socialist Scholars Conferences in New York City
The Communist influences on President Obama’s healthcare objectives do not end with the foregoing list of PNHP leaders. In 2004, PNHP collaborated with a number of likeminded, far-left organizations to form a wider coalition, Healthcare-NOW!, which likewise promotes single-payer reform (and, notably, enjoys the strong support of the Socialist Party USA). Obama’s friend and mentor, Quentin Young, is a central figure in Healthcare-NOW!, serving as the network’s national coordinator and co-chair. Other prominent members of Healthcare-NOW!’s Board of Directors—who, like their counterparts at PNHP, exert a major influence on President Obama—include:

■Medea Benjamin, the pro-Castro, America-hating co-founder of Global Exchange, Code Pink for Peace, and Iraq Occupation Watch
■Michael Lighty, a longtime member (and former chairman) of the Democratic Socialists of America
■Flavio Casoy, a San Francisco-based doctor and a prominent member of the Communist Party USA
■Rev. Lucius Walker, the pro-Castro executive director of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization, and a longtime supporter of Communist Party USA activities
Barack Obama did not conceive of socialized medicine on his own. His acceptance of such a system was cultivated and nurtured by the same types of Marxist revolutionaries with whom he has surrounded himself throughout his entire adult life – and who are now shaping the major policy agendas of his administration.

Obama was schooled in Marxism from an early age and was mentored by radicals like Frank Marshall Davis. His indoctrination was complete by the time groups like ACORN helped him get elected as Illinois Senator. He’s been groomed for this his whole life; to reach the most powerful position in the world and do the most damage to freedom and democracy as possible. Of course, thanks to leftwingnut voters and leftwingnut Dems in Congress and Senate, he’s doing just that.

Unlike you, who will undoubtedly continue to tap dance and evade rather than substantiate specific claims, I will continue to examine these specific controversial claims and prove that they are without merit. Remember: The burden of proof is ALWAYS upon the accuser!

Although I mentioned the Iraq War as only an example of right-wing deception, the evidence is clear. WMD components are not WMD stockpiles. Neither anthrax nor sarin are weapons until they are weaponized! Regardless of precursors and components that may have been found after the invasion, the CIA’s Iraq Study Group, led by Charles Duelfer, announced to the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee that the group found NO evidence that Iraq under Saddam Hussein had produced and stockpiled any weapons of mass destruction since 1991, when UN sanctions were imposed. This CONFIRMED the conclusion of the United Nations inspectors in early 2003 after 2002 inspections. Links available upon request!

Proof of Bush administration deception regarding the Iraqi threat? The Senate Intelligence Committee details Administration prewar statements that, on numerous occasions, misrepresented the intelligence and the threat from Iraq (see http://intelligence.senate.gov/press/record.cfm?id=298775 . Chairman Rockefeller indicated that top Administration officials “made repeated statements that falsely linked Iraq and al Qa’ida as a single threat and insinuated that Iraq played a role in 9/11. Sadly, the Bush Administration led the nation into war under false pretenses.” There is no doubt that many Americans believed Iraq was responsible for 9/11 due to Bush administration statements.

“There is no question we all relied on flawed intelligence. But, there is a fundamental difference between relying on incorrect intelligence and deliberately painting a picture to the American people that you know is not fully accurate.

“These reports represent the final chapter in our oversight of prewar intelligence. They complete the story of mistakes and failures – both by the Intelligence Community and the Administration – in the lead up to the war. Fundamentally, these reports are about transparency and holding our government accountable, and making sure these mistakes never happen again,” Rockefeller added.

The Committee’s report cites several conclusions in which the Administration’s public statements were NOT supported by the intelligence. They include:

Ø Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa’ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa’ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.

Ø Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.

Ø Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.

Ø Statements by the President and Vice President prior to the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iraq’s chemical weapons production capability and activities did not reflect the intelligence community’s uncertainties as to whether such production was ongoing.

Ø The Secretary of Defense’s statement that the Iraqi government operated underground WMD facilities that were not vulnerable to conventional airstrikes because they were underground and deeply buried was not substantiated by available intelligence information.

Ø The Intelligence Community did not confirm that Muhammad Atta met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in 2001 as the Vice President repeatedly claimed.

But let’s concentrate on YOUR unsubstantiated claims regarding Frank Marshall Davis IF you have the balls to proceed! Let’s see if YOU respond, like other residents of Right Wing Fantasyland, with “bluster, red herrings, and ad hominem attacks more often than rational, focused answers.” Are you willing and able to defend your claims like a man, or are you going to respond like a wuss and attempt to shoot the messenger?

    1. Kaleokualoha,

I’m addressing your inane bullshit one last time, then you’re gone from here.

Now, on to tear your last comment to shreds:
      YOU:

The tapdancing you do with denials and accusations of “lies, fabrications, misrepresentations” makes Fred Astaire look like an amateur. I’ve proven you wrong. No burden here.
      YOU:

Although I mentioned the Iraq War as only an example of right-wing deception, the evidence is clear. WMD components are not WMD stockpiles. “Right-wing deception”. Gawd, how leftwing can you get? Your talking points are straight from the DailyKos, which is better suited for your spiel. The “Bush lied” mantra is hackneyed and patently false. Here’s a dissection of your leftwingnut propaganda:
You refuse to read the links I provided to previous posts which discuss in detail, the proof of Saddam’s duplicity, WMD materials and stockpiles, as well as his terrorist associations.

      4) Looting of WMD facilities:
In the weeks after Baghdad fell in April 2003, looters systematically dismantled and removed tons of machinery from Saddam Hussein’s most important weapons installations, including some with high-precision equipment capable of making parts for nuclear arms, a senior Iraqi official said this week in the government’s first extensive comments on the looting.

The UN admitted that Iraq had over six tons of anthrax, most of it weaponized, right up until the invasion:

      5) Last major stockpile from Saddam’s nuclear efforts (the yellowcake that Joe Wilson claimed Saddam never had) arrives in Canada:

Those weapons were previously unknown to U.N. inspectors; they were concealed.
Those are weapons and materials Hussein was not supposed to possess, yet he did.
I’ll even break it down chronologically:
      1. We invaded Iraq in March 2003. I was deployed there for the first part of the major combat operations.
      2. In 2003 we discovered 500 weapons containing mustard and sarin nerve agent. http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/Iraq_WMD_Declassified.pdf
      3. 23 June 2004, 1.77 tons of enriched uranium, about 1,000 “highly radioactive sources” were removed from Iraq.
      http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3872201.stm
      4. 14 August , 2005: U.S. troops raiding a warehouse in the northern city of Mosul uncovered a suspected chemical weapons factory containing 1,500 gallons of chemicals believed destined for attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces and civilians, military officials said Saturday.
      http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/13/AR2005081300530.html
      5. July, 2008: The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.
The removal of 550 metric tons of “yellowcake” — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy.
      http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25546334/

Saddam Hussein’s duplicitous behavior clearly indicated his intent to continue with his WMD program. That is a fact.
      Saddam himself stated that unequivocally:

“The factories are present,” an Iraqi aide tells Saddam on one of the tapes, made by the dictator in the mid-1990s while U.N. weapons inspectors were searching for Baghdad’s remaining stocks of weapons of mass destruction.
“The factories remain, in the mind they remain. Our spirit is with us, based solely on the time period,” the aide says, according to the documents. “And [inspectors] take note of the time period, they can’t account for our will.”
      http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20060313-123146-7380r.htm

The fact remains that in spite of the repeated denials by the left, WMD were found and destroyed. Some, by the way, were looted before we got to them:

A CIA report released last week by chief U.S. weapons inspector Charles Duelfer showed that some equipment could have been taken during the chaos of the 2003 invasion.
However, IAEA spokesman Mark Gwozdecky said the looting apparently continued after that.
“From our satellite photos, we’ve seen evidence that some of the facilities we used to monitor closely have been dismantled completely,” Gwozdecky said, indicating that it happened over a longer period with more forethought.
“We need to answer the question, ‘Where did this material go?’ ”
In a letter to the U.N. Security Council dated October 4, IAEA head Mohamed ElBaradei said that while some radioactive equipment taken from Iraq after the war began has shown up in other countries, none of the high-quality, dual-use equipment or materials that is missing has been found.
      Source: http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/13/iraq.nuclear/

      In addition:

The missing explosives from al Qaqaa also raise the possibility that other WMD-related materials met the same fate. The IAEA had seen the al Qaqaa material in January 2003, but by the time U.S. troops showed up on April 10, they had disappeared. The dual-use technologies mentioned in the other IAEA report also had been moved or looted. This suggests that still other WMDs and related technologies might have been given or taken away in the days leading up to the war, or shortly after the Coalition attacks began. It is widely believed, though not conclusively proved, that much of this went to Syria. The Iraq Survey Group interviewed Iraqi agents who claimed to have helped moved the WMD materials. This charge was repeated by David Kay when he left the ISG earlier this year.
      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/01/25/wirq25.xml&sSheet=/news/2004/01/25/ixnewstop.html

The warheads containing cyclosarin were still usable, and dangerous. The subsequent weapons developed after Hussein kicked out the U.N. inspectors in 1998, weren’t removed until post-initial combat ops. The facilities and machinery developed in the 80’s were still functional in 2003.

When the first inspectors were in Iraq from 1992 to 1998, it took until 1995 to learn Iraq had an offensive biological weapons program. That only came to light because Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s son-in-law defected. Hussein Kamal had been in charge of the Iraqi biological warfare program since 1988. He told inspectors about the program and where to look.
He detailed a large research and development effort looking at a range of biological weapons from anthrax to ricin to possibly smallpox. He also detailed a number of industrial plants around Iraq where large-scale production occurred. Finally, he revealed the extent of the Iraqi program to “weaponize” these materials and research into other dispersion methods.
Inspectors located some of this infrastructure. But Saddam Hussein continued to hide and lie and deceive the inspectors up until he kicked them out in 1998. When the inspectors left, Iraq had declared 8,500 liters of anthrax. Inspectors believed the Iraqi government actually had 15,000 to 24,000 liters. The Iraqis declared they had 19,000 liters of botulinum toxin, the inspectors maintained they actually had 26,000. According to U.N. officials, Iraq has yet to prove even these declared amounts of biological agents have been destroyed.

In his Jan. 2003, report, UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix stated that “Iraq appears not to have come to a genuine acceptance, not even today, of the disarmament that was demanded of it.”

The citations show that Iraq’s accumulated WMDs still existed up until 2005.

You need to read some of Duelfer’s assessments more closely:

Knowledge, infrastructure, and materiel, which usually lie beneath the threshold of suspicion, but which can be rapidly adapted or reorganized to allow for weaponization processes to be undertaken. Such capabilities require pre-disposed resources and often employ dual-use technology, equipment, or knowledge.
While other WMD programs were strictly prohibited, the UN permitted Iraq to develop and possess delivery systems provided their range did not exceed 150 km. This freedom allowed Iraq to keep its scientists and technicians employed and to keep its infrastructure and manufacturing base largely intact by pursuing programs nominally in compliance with the UN limitations. This positioned Iraq for a potential breakout capability.
      -Duelfer Report
UNSCR 687 prohibited chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons programs but permitted the development and possession of ballistic missiles with up to a 150 km range. Iraq kept its scientists and technicians employed and its missile infrastructure and manufacturing base largely intact by pursuing programs nominally in compliance with the UN limitations. This positioned Iraq with a breakout capability.
      -Duelfer Report
State of Chemical Industry at OIF—Limited Break-Out Capability
Definition. “Breakout Capability”: ISG considers a CW breakout capability to be the capacity of Iraq to de novo produce and fi eld militarily significant CW rapidly. ISG considered a range of break-out scenarios applicable to Iraq and its capabilities existing in 2002. An example of a breakout scenario would be wartime or imminent threat-precipitated production of dubious quality, low-stability agents for immediate use. A breakout capability could be deliberately developed during peacetime or improvised in response to a threat.
      -Duelfer Report
According to Dr. Bilal, Iraq’s hypothetical breakout mustard production could be achieved by using equipment that could be sacrificed, instead of relying on specially lined vessels.
      -Duelfer Report
ISG judges that Bacillus anthracis (anthrax) would likely be the agent of choice for breakout production.
      • It represented the single strategic BW agent that Iraq had in its historical arsenal.
      • Iraq has a previous track record in large-scale growth, processing, testing and weaponization of anthrax spores.
      • Corn byproduct medium, indigenously manufactured for Bt production, would also be suitable for the growth of B. anthracis.
      -Duelfer Report
ISG exploitation of Samarra Drug Insustries’ (SDI) location revealed industrial scale utilities and numerous, dual-use jacketed vessels, some of which had not been declared to the UN. ISG found no evidence that equipment at Samarra had been modified to serve as fermentors for BW production. ISG assesses, however, that the staff possessed the required expertise for bulk BW agent production and that Samarra potentially would have been capable of limited breakout production of BW agent within one month prior to OIF.
      -Duelfer Report

The Duelfer Report assessed that Saddam had the intent and had the ability to make fresh WMD.

Dave Gaubatz, a former US Air Force special agent, passed on vital intelligence to the Iraq Survey Group — and is dismayed that nothing happened:

What kills me about you lefties is you deny he had WMDs, deny any were ever found, or even more pathetic, deny that he was a threat.
All three have been unequivocally proven.
      YOU:

……Chairman Rockefeller indicated that top Administration officials “made repeated statements that falsely linked Iraq and al Qa’ida as a single threat and insinuated that Iraq played a role in 9/11. Leftwing moonbat Jay Rockefeller?? What a fucking joke.
He was never interested in actually reading the findings of the ISG and the discovery of WMD Saddam was not supposed to have, nor will he admit that he was wrong. Sound familiar?
Furthermore, Saddam’s liaisons with terrorists, including al Qaeda, are outlined in detail, at this link to my post:

Your father was a communist who influenced a young B. Hussein Obama. The only “red” herring is your father. The claims have been substantiated.

I’m a female, but I guarantee my “balls” are bigger than yours.

My identity is irrelevant to the truth. Exactly WHERE did I deny “that Frank had any influence on Obama.” I never denied that. Apparently you have problems with reading comprehension, because that’s a lie.

Once again, stop tap-dancing and answer the questions: Where is the evidence that Obama joined “joined Davis at his home most evenings”? Where is the evidence (QUOTATION) proving they shared “alcohol and drugs” together. You may be confusing Obama with his grandfather. Proof NOT provided.

BTW: You may be interested in this cordial exchange between myself and Max Friedman, Cliff Kincaid’s researcher: http://pajamasmedia.com/phyllischesler/2009/05/31/judge-sonia-sotomayor-and-singing-sensation-susan-boyle/#comment-13017. Only the last few comments pertain to this situation. Please note that Max agreed to follow through with Cliff Kincaid regarding the specific misrepresentation I had identified in June. Not a peep was heard from him since then.

    1. Kaleokualoha,
You refuse to acknowledge the truth about your father, Iraq, and WMD, choosing instead to use your own tailored talking points. Here’s a point by point refutation:
      YOU:

My identity is irrelevant to the truth. Exactly WHERE did I deny “that Frank had any influence on Obama.” I never denied that. Apparently you have problems with reading comprehension, because that’s a lie.

Your identity has everything to do with it. You aren’t as dedicated to the truth as you are saving your father’s “reputation”. You deny that Obama and your father had a close relationship with statements like this:

“Davis was “wise and trusted” enough for Obama to associate with him and be influenced.” Obama did not trust his advice, which defines mentorship.

You deny that your father, in spite of his deeply held communist belief system, would never have discussed socialism with Obama:

There is ZERO evidence that they communicated on socialism. There is zero evidence that Obama even knew of Davis CPUSA involvement.

Which is preposterous, because with all of the other “advice” he gave out with respect to his viewpoints on America, race, and politics, there’s no doubt that he discussed those things, especially just before Obama went off to Occidental. Were you there? Uh, no. Obama was deeply influenced by the contact with your father, and HE SAID AS MUCH.
      Again, from the book:

      pg76 – (Frank is introduced)
“Gramps had a number of black male friends, mostly poker and bridge partners… I would let him drag me along to some of these games.”…
……”There was one exception, a poet named Frank who lived in a dilapidated house in a run-down section of Waikiki. He must have enjoyed some modest notoriety once,…But by the time he met Frank he must have been pushing eighty…
……He would read us poetry whenever we stopped by his house, sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an empty jelly jar. As the night wore on, the two of them would solicit my help composing dirty limericks. Eventually the conversation would turn towards laments about women.”
pg 97 – “What had Frank called college? An advanced degree in compromise. I thought back to the last time I had seen the old poet….
(page long narrative with his previous conversations with Frank on the value of college)
pg 98 – “It made me smile, thinking back on Frank and his old Black Panther dashiki self. In some ways he was incurable as my mother, as certain in his faith, living in the same sixties time warp that Hawaii had created.”

      YOU:

Once again, stop tap-dancing and answer the questions: Where is the evidence that Obama joined “joined Davis at his home most evenings”? Where is the evidence (QUOTATION) proving they shared “alcohol and drugs” together. You may be confusing Obama with his grandfather. Proof NOT provided.

      Again, FROM THE BOOK:

pg88…..Barry that night drives to Waikiki, visits Frank. Frank says he and Stanley (Gramps) grew up about 50 miles apart. They didn’t know each other. (yeah, right) Obama also admits drinking whiskey with Davis, describing in his autobiography that he drove to Waikiki to visit Davis and drink whiskey with him out of plastic cups. On that evening Obama had become upset learning that a black panhandler had approached his grandmother and scared her at a bus stop while she was waiting to go to work. In the incident, Obama reports “reaching for the bottle, this time pouring my own,” while listening to Davis explain that Obama’s grandmother was “right to be scared.”

You need to read the book yourself. Based on your denials, it’s apparent you’ve never even picked it up.
Frank also confessed to having sex with children. Wow. That’s a proud moment in Davis heritage.

      YOU:

BTW: You may be interested in this cordial exchange between myself and Max Friedman, Cliff Kincaid’s researcher: http://pajamasmedia.com/phyllischesler/2009/05/31/judge-sonia-sotomayor-and-singing-sensation-susan-boyle/#comment-13017. Only the last few comments pertain to this situation. Please note that Max agreed to follow through with Cliff Kincaid regarding the specific misrepresentation I had identified in June. Not a peep was heard from him since then.

Here’s a “peep” from me: Anything that sheds light on your father’s behavior is labeled a “misrepresentation”. When you read the passages in Obama’s book which discuss his relationship with Frank, it’s impossible to take anything out of context or “misrepresent”. The bottom line here is that you have your panties in a wad over Franks father/son relationship with Obama. Jealous much?

“You call that little blurb a “dialogue”?” Yes, because clearing your pile of disinformation requires one step at a time. Disinformation is built on a series of small falsehoods. Your “most evenings” claim appears to be just one.

I asked for proof to support your claim that “Obama joined Davis at his home most evenings.” You responded with evidence that Obama visited Davis OCCASIONALLY! “Occasionally is not “most evenings,” which (by definition) means more than 50% of evening. This is obviously an exaggeration, especially considering that Obama did not even see Davis for three years while in high school.

Unless you can provide proof for THIS falsehood, it goes to the “unsubstantiated” column. Then we can move on to the next, which is your claim that Obama “shared alcohol & drugs with Davis,” because “Dreams” contains no such information. Please provide PROOF for either claim.

    1. Mark Davis aka “Kaleokualoha”,
The jig is up, assclown. I might have had more respect for you had if you been truthful up front, but like your father’s protégé Obama, you chose to hide the name of the culprit.
I knew I was close when I said this:

Of all Obama’s leftwing radical friends, you have an odd fascination with Frank Marshall Davis. What gives? Are you a relative trying to clear his “good name”, or are you just practicing those “deception” techniques you learned in the air force to send this conversation on an endless loop between your denials and my citations.

Gee, must be the analyst in me.
No wonder you hate Cliff Kincaid and AIM. He’s just one of the investigative journalists who revealed your daddy for the communist agitator he was, along with the influence he had on Obama:

      http://www.aim.org/aim-column/the-frank-marshall-davis-network-in-hawaii/
      http://www.aim.org/aim-column/ap-lies-about-obamas-red-mentor/
      http://www.aim.org/aim-column/special-report-red-faces-over-obamas-red-mentor/
      http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-communist-cover-up-continues/

By the looks of the responses to your long-winded crying jags over “disinformation” and “lies, lies, all lies!” about your father’s CPUSA membership, ideology, and friendship with Obama, they’re not impressed either.
Ol’ Frank schooled you well in the art of leftwing propaganda, as well as Barack. The only disinformation here is the ration of crap you regurgitate trying to justify your father’s (and Obama’s) communist political activities and philosophy. As for your air force career, it’s ironic that the son of a dyed-in-the-wool communist would enlist in a branch of the United States military; a military that is sworn to protect and defend America against all enemies—foreign and domestic. That includes communist enemies.
I bet daddy just loved that, huh?

Your “CIA Deception Analysis Course” doesn’t hold a candle to the deception and denial techniques you learned at home. Since patriotism and loyalty to America weren’t exactly your father’s strong suits, it must have been quite an “education”.
Since you’ve undoubtedly been apprised of what kind of relationship your father had with Obama, you should be the one quoting facts from the book.
First you denied that Frank had any influence on Obama. That’s a lie. I pointed to Obama’s book as well as the writings of fellow traveler Gerald Horne and statements from his own sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng.
Stuff you already know: Obama was introduced to daddy Davis at the age of ten. The relationship lasted from 1970 (two years after you left) when Obama was ten until he left Hawaii for college on the mainland at age 18. Which pretty much covers high school.
Obama was reticent about revealing who “Frank” was in his book until Horne outed the relationship. I’m willing to bet B. Hussein spent more time with daddy Davis than he discusses in his autobiography; especially when you read the affectionate tone of his recollections. Obama refers to “Frank” as an early mentor who was a “decisive-influence” in helping to mold his identity. That’s quite an impact for just an “OCCASIONAL” visit.
The sharing of alcohol, as if I give a shit, was recounted by Obama himself in the book. He admitted drinking whiskey with Frank, describing that he drove to Waikiki to visit him and drink whiskey with him out of plastic cups.

I’m still laughing over this statement of yours:

“For him, communism was primarily an intellectual vehicle to achieve a political end-a possible tool for gaining the constitutional freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans.”

Fucking please. You know damned well that communism is diametrically opposed to capitalism, free market enterprise, and the concepts laid out in the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Your father was a communist until the day he died. The ideology shared by daddy Davis and Obama is now being used to damage our national security, economy, and foreign policy.

Your arguments consist of nothing more than a circle jerk of semantics.

Empirical evidence for you to wrap your leftwing mind around:
Obama admitted that “Frank” had a strong influence on him, and your father was indeed a Communist. CPUSA was a Stalinist organization, and he embraced it. That’s the truth, which you are loathe to confront.
Obama was influenced by other nihilists besides your father. He sat in a church for 20 years absorbing the Black Liberation Theology of Jeremiah Wright. He worked with Bill Ayers and ACORN. He was immersed in communist/socialist ideas.
The Soviets, whom your father admired, were adept at disinformation and propaganda. They practiced the art of manipulation of facts in political arguments; usually in an attempt to put a smiley face on communism and talk about how bad life was for people under democracy. Millions of people were slaughtered under communist rule and hoards of people were killed trying to escape the communist utopia to which people like your father would never really subject themselves.
Yet you continue to defend him without the decency to be embarrassed.

As for moving on to the next “falsehood”, suffice it to say that any further claims of “disinformation” and “misrepresentation” on your part (with regard to Saddam’s WMDs, Iraq, etc) are shot to hell.

You’re a real piece of work.
Take your bullshit elsewhere and try it on someone who doesn’t know any better.
      Cheers,
      SFC MAC

  4. Kaleokualoha

OK, now we have a dialogue going. Let’s start from the bottom: Where is your PROOF that Obama joined Davis at his home most evenings? Obama did not even see Davis for three years while in high school.

Please provide QUOTES from “Dreams” to support this statement.

    1. Kaleokualoha,

You call that little blurb a “dialogue”?

Davis was one of Obama’s role models, and is mentioned throughout the Dreams From My Father memoir. He thought enough of Davis to view their contact as a pseudo father/son relationship. (pp. 89-91, 96-98, 220).
While Obama attended Honolulu’s Punahou School, he sought out his grandfather’s friend Frank Marshall Davis in “the house with the wobbly porch and the low-pitched roof.” (p 89-98)
Nearly every time Obama reflects on his role models, Frank comes up.

……Obama recounts how he visited Mr Davis on several occasions, apparently at junctures when he was grappling with racial issues, to seek his counsel. Obama describes Davis’ advice on college:
At one point in 1979 Davis described university as “an advanced degree in compromise” that was designed to keep blacks in their place.
Obama quoted him as saying: “Leaving your race at the door. Leaving your people behind. Understand something, boy. You’re not going to college to get educated. You’re going there to get trained.”
They’ll train you to forget what you already know. They’ll train you so good, you’ll start believing what they tell you about equal opportunity and the American way and all that shit.”
He added that “they’ll tank on your chain and let you know that you may be a well-trained, well-paid nigger, but you’re a nigger just the same.”
Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s half-sister, said that her grandfather (Stanley Dunham) saw Davis as “a point of connection, a bridge if you will, to the larger African-American experience for my brother”.
While his mother was in Indonesia during part of his teenage years, Mr Obama lived with his white grandparents. Mrs Weatherly-Williams said that the poet was first introduced to the future Democratic presidential candidate in 1970 at the age of 10.
      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/2601914/Frank-Marshall-Davis-alleged-Communist-was-early-influence-on-Barack-Obama.html

That “larger experience” involved discussions on Davis’ communist philosophy.
From Gerald Horne’s Rethinking the History and Future of the Communist Party:

“ At some point in the future, a teacher will add to her syllabus Barack’s memoir and instruct her students to read it alongside Frank Marshall Davis’ equally affecting memoir…when that day comes…a future student will …examine critically the Frankenstein monsters that US imperialism created in order to subdue Communist parties…”

In any case, you have not addressed any of the points/counterpoints I made in my last comment.

I’ll pick up this conversation tomorrow. Hopefully by then, you’ll have your weak feces consolidated.

  5. Kaleokualoha

Thanks for your response. I was at DIA/OSC-6B (Office of Security and Counterintelligence) between 1988 and 1992, where my specialty was deception analysis. It’s a pity that you seem to have forgotten the need for ALL responsible researchers to provide sources for their reports, because your deficiencies are glaring! Perhaps Army intel training is not as concerned with accuracy.

    – I never wrote that the Iraq threat was a myth. Instead, it was greatly exaggerated through a disinformation campaign. The FACT of the matter is that the Iraqi threat was misrepresented by the Bush administration, as outlined by the Senate Intelligence Committee. Iraq had no WMD stockpiles, nor was it responsible for 9/11, as the Bush administration lead the American public to believe. The National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) contained numerous qualification and caveats about Iraqi WMD, but the Bush administration falsely proclaimed “there is no doubt” about the WMD threat.

    – “Davis was “wise and trusted” enough for Obama to associate with him and be influenced.” Obama did not trust his advice, which defines mentorship. Does the EVIDENCE indicate that his distrusted his advice? Absolutely! You can’t make up your own definitions.

    – “BTW: Army NCOs retired and otherwise, can name-call and cuss if they like, without your permission”? RESPONSE: Of course they CAN, but that’s the test of the professional: the ability to debate rationally. I was an Air Force MSgt before I became an officer!

    – “What proof do you have to refute Obama’s own statements about his liassons with Davis?” Absolutely none. I am not trying to refute Obama’s statements. I am only refuting specious speculation masquerading as truth, such as yours, about the Davis Obama relationship that are so common in the blogosphere. Didn’t you learn about the hazards of ASSuming and jumping to conclusions? For example, please provide evidence (not blogger opinion) to support your contentions that:

    – “the radical socialist philosophy rubbed off.” There is ZERO evidence that they communicated on socialism. There is zero evidence that Obama even knew of Davis CPUSA involvement. Disagree? PROOF, please!

    – “Frank Marshall Davis was a committed communist. Everything he believed in was diametrically opposed to democracy.” RESPONSE This is a crock (unsubstantiated accusations)! His writing are freely available online. I challenge you to find even ONE sentence of his showing a commitment to communism. Contrary to the fraudulent memes circulated throughout the blogosphere regarding Davis, University of Kansas Professor Edgar Tidwell, cited by AIM’s Cliff Kincaid as an expert on the life and writings of Davis, explains that THESE were the “radical” goals of Frank Marshall Davis:

    (1) integration of armed forces

    (2) integration of AFL and CIO

    (3) fair wages and other benefits for workers

    (4) general dismantling of all laws supporting racial segregation

    (5) end to laws supporting anti-Semitism

    (6) end to atomic warfare

    (7) rights for soldiers in combat zones to vote in national elections

    (8) support for Fair Employment Practices Act

    (9) support for a broad United Nations (not just US and Great Britain
    forming a world power union)

    (10) end to restrictive covenants in real estate

You will likely find that these have mostly been transformed from “radical” goals of the 1940s into mainstream 21st century standards. Frank Marshall Davis was not out of line. He was just ahead of his time.

    – ONCE AGAIN: Where is your evidence that Obama:
    — Joined Davis at his home most evenings? Obama did not even see Davis for three years while in high school.
    — Shared alcohol & drugs with Davis? “Dreams” contains no such information.
    — Is tutored in socialism? “Dreams” contains no such information.

    – YOU WROTE “Of course he did not want to “overthrow the USA”, he just wanted to replace the system with one more to his liking. Hint: It wasn’t democracy. That “intellectual vehicle to achieve a political end-a possible tool for gaining the constitutional freedoms of life” has been responsible for millions of deaths.

RESPONSE: Frank Marshall Davis rejected collectivism. He was a capitalist. He owned two paper companies, and sold advertising specialties, in Hawaii. He joined the CPUSA during WWII, just as the United States joined the Soviet Union during WWII, not because they shared the delusion of a communist utopia. Each was a marriage of convenience. He joined because membership had its privileges, such as professional and social opportunities. He considered membership in the CPUSA as a “vehicle and tool” because, according to “The New Red Negro” (cited by AIM’s Cliff Kincaid as a source):

“ONLY the Communist left had any significant institutional impact on African-American writing during the 1930s and 1940s. This support was crucial as the institutions that had maintained the New Negro Renaissance faded. And for better or for worse, the leading CPUSA functionaries involved in “Negro work” took a direct interest in African-American cultural production in a manner that was unusual, if not unique.

Jumping to conclusions seems to be quite common in the fantasyland of the right-wing blogosphere. When asked to substantiate their conclusions, we may encounter bluster, red herrings, and ad hominem attacks more often than rational, focused answers. Military Intelligence students are quickly disabused of such behavior, and learn the value of supporting every conclusion they proffer. (Apparently, though, some seem to have FORGETTEN their lessons learned.) Researchers at the Rand Corporation and other highly regarded research institutions often come from such rigorous backgrounds, where conclusions are based on empirical evidence, rather than wishful thinking.

It’s a pity that blogosphere researchers and commentators are not held to similar high standards of accuracy. It’s a pity that their fans consider clearly documented misrepresentation to be insignificant as long as it confirms their biases. It’s a pity that such predisposition to believing disinformation can be exploited just as easily by Accuracy In Media (AIM) editor Cliff Kincaid as it was by the Bush administration in selling the Iraqi threat. Even today, when all of the false evidence supporting Iraqi WMD stockpiles has been clearly debunked, Bush loyalists may insist their conclusions were true despite the lack of evidence.

You say your vindication comes through proof? Great! Now PROVE your claims, Sergeant!

“The way to combat noxious ideas is with other ideas. The way to combat falsehoods is with truth.”
    – William O. Douglas

    1. Kaleokualoha,

      YOU:
I was at DIA/OSC-6B (Office of Security and Counterintelligence) between 1988 and 1992, where my specialty was deception analysis. It’s a pity that you seem to have forgotten the need for ALL responsible researchers to provide sources for their reports, because your deficiencies are glaring! Perhaps Army intel training is not as concerned with accuracy.

And what did you retain? Not a whole lot from that response. Army intelligence personnel are trained in all source analysis—comparing all of the information collected by various assets—for redundancy and accuracy. Every single reference I cited came from documented sources, along with Obama’s own recollections. Perhaps air force intel, for all your bragging, isn’t really up to par. Denying the historical importance of the Obama/Davis relationship isn’t very good analysis.

      YOU:
I never wrote that the Iraq threat was a myth.

Considering the amount of WMDs, facilities, resources, deception techniques (i.e. the obstacles he placed in the way of U.N. inspectors, along with the stated intent to continue his program), warranted military action. (IAW U.N. Resolution 1441)
One of the WMD materials discovered was over a ton and a half of cyclosarin. THAT is a stockpile, or didn’t they teach you that in the air force? READ THE LINK I PROVIDED. (http://sfcmac.wordpress.com/2008/06/17/no-lies-about-iraq/)
Anyone with a couple of firing neurons can read the information and figure out that not only was Saddam able to hide a substantial amount of WMDs, but like the rest of the Islamic-nation states in the ME, he posed a serious threat.

No one, not even George Bush ever said that Iraq was directly involved in 9/11. What he did say, and the fact remains, is that Hussein was a threat with WMD, who supported al Qaeda, and a plethora of other terrorist groups.

For 12 years, Iraq thumbed its nose at weapons inspectors and the U.N. resolutions. U.N. Resolution 1441 gave Hussein an ultimatum and us the specific authority to force compliance, by any necessary means. That included military force.

      YOU:
“Davis was “wise and trusted” enough for Obama to associate with him and be influenced.” Obama did not trust his advice, which defines mentorship. Does the EVIDENCE indicate that his distrusted his advice? Absolutely! You can’t make up your own definitions.

The definition is provided by Obama himself in his Dreams From My Father, as well as Davis’ associates:

The “poet named Frank” who visited him in Hawaii, read poetry, and was full of “hard-earned knowledge” and advice. Who was Frank? (Three guesses, first two don’t count) Obama only says that he had “some modest notoriety once,” was “a contemporary of Richard Wright and Langston Hughes during his years in Chicago…” but was now “pushing eighty.” He writes about “Frank and his old Black Power dashiki self” giving him advice before he left for Occidental College in 1979 at the age of 18.
……one academic who travels in communist circles understands the significance of the Davis-Obama relationship. Professor Gerald Horne, a contributing editor of the Communist Party journal Political Affairs, talked about it during a speech last March at the reception of the Communist Party USA archives at the Tamiment Library at New York University. The remarks are posted online under the headline, “Rethinking the History and Future of the Communist Party.”

Horne, a history professor at the University of Houston, noted that Davis, who moved to Honolulu from Kansas in 1948 “at the suggestion of his good friend Paul Robeson,” came into contact with Barack Obama and his family and became the young man’s mentor, influencing Obama’s sense of identity and career moves. Robeson, of course, was the well-known black actor and singer who served as a member of the CPUSA and apologist for the old Soviet Union. Davis had known Robeson from his time in Chicago.

As Horne describes it, Davis “befriended” a “Euro-American family” that had “migrated to Honolulu from Kansas and a young woman from this family eventually had a child with a young student from Kenya East Africa who goes by the name of Barack Obama, who retracing the steps of Davis eventually decamped to Chicago.”
      http://obamareport.blogspot.com/2008/04/barack-obamas-communist-mentor-frank.html

Radicals like Davis had substantial influence on Obama’s thinking. Why do you think he has a socialist approach to domestic and foreign policy? He was inculcated with the philosophy his entire life—from teenage to adulthood. He was a red diaper baby. Obviously he agrees with it.

      – YOU:
“BTW: Army NCOs retired and otherwise, can name-call and cuss if they like, without your permission”? RESPONSE: Of course they CAN, but that’s the test of the professional: the ability to debate rationally. I was an Air Force MSgt before I became an officer!

If cussing is “unprofessional”, great leaders like General George S. Patton certainly didn’t think so. I debate rationally along with a few cuss words. Don’t like it? Tough shit.

      Now, on to this:

      YOU:
“What proof do you have to refute Obama’s own statements about his liassons with Davis?” Absolutely none. I am not trying to refute Obama’s statements. I am only refuting specious speculation masquerading as truth, such as yours, about the Davis Obama relationship that are so common in the blogosphere.

Speculation about Obama’s own statements? There’s nothing specious about it. He admired Davis and took to his personna. Trying to blame this on the blogosphere is a tactic more conducive to the MSM. The blogoshere is actually more adept at gathering information and compiling citations. In other words, you’ll never see the kind of investigative journalism from Obamabots like Chris Matthews as you will from say, The American Thinker and the Weekly Standard.

      YOU:
Didn’t you learn about the hazards of ASSuming and jumping to conclusions? For example, please provide evidence (not blogger opinion) to support your contentions that:
      – “the radical socialist philosophy rubbed off.” There is ZERO evidence that they communicated on socialism. There is zero evidence that Obama even knew of Davis CPUSA involvement. Disagree? PROOF, please!

The only one ASSuming here is someone who ASSumes that in spite of Obama’s close relationship with Davis and the subsequent influence, that Obama was totally clueless of Davis’ political leanings. You cannot be that dense. Obama tried to bullshit his way out of his close association with William Ayers with comments like “I thought he was rehabilitated”. And, “he was just a guy in my neighborhood”. Ayers, in case you forgot, is an unrepentant former SDS terrorist who said he regretted “not doing enough”. There’s a definite pattern to Obama’s behavior. He keeps appointing socialist and communist “community organizers” to his cabinet, but he doesn’t seem to know anything about their political involvement. He’s either the dumbest son of a bitch on the planet, or he knows exactly who these people are and from whence they came. Betcha bottom dollar it’s the latter.

Read Davis’ own background and statements. He wrote a 1950 piece, “Free Enterprise or Socialism?”

In it, he described his socialist vision for America, and hoped that capitalism/free enterprise would be trashed in favor of it.

      – YOU:
“Frank Marshall Davis was a committed communist. Everything he believed in was diametrically opposed to democracy.” RESPONSE This is a crock (unsubstantiated accusations)! His writing are freely available online. I challenge you to find even ONE sentence of his showing a commitment to communism.

      How ’bout Frank’s own words?:

……”Before too long, our nation will have to decide whether we shall have free enterprise or socialism.”

“If monopoly continues at the present rate, either the giant corporations will control all our markets, the greatest share of our wealth, and eventually, our government, or the government will be forced to intervene with some form of direct regulation of business.

Sound familiar? Obama’s implementing that as we speak.

Davis also blamed American capitalism for starting World War II. That was the party line issued by Stalin in his February 1946 Bolshoi Theatre speech.

      Here’s more:

Davis wrote for The Chicago Star, the communist newspaper of Chicago, a city that had one of the largest CPUSA affiliates, and, in fact, hosted the September 1919 convention that launched the American Communist Party. Though Davis always tried to conceal any communist associations — ironically, Obama supporters have picked up that torch — there’s no question that Davis was a communist, as is immediately evident upon reading his columns, examining his background, or consulting with people in the party (to this day) who confirm he was a communist. The fact that he was at least a lower case “c” “communist” is obvious. It takes a little more digging to find evidence of his membership in CPUSA — but not much. Among the sources that reveal his membership are Davis himself, notably in a letter he wrote to a friend, published posthumously by his biographer, Professor John Edgar Tidwell. “I have recently joined the Communist party,” wrote Davis.
In 1948, Davis just happened to arrive in Hawaii the same time that leaders of the Communist Party in Hawaii — realizing the limits of national party organs like the Daily Worker and People’s Daily World — established their own weekly newspaper, the Honolulu Record. In 1949, Davis began writing a regular column for the Record, titled, “Frankly Speaking.” This was a key form of agitation work that Davis would do for the party in Hawaii for decades.

Fraudulent? You’d better re-read Davis’ writings.

Funny you should mention the AFL/CIO. They have roots in socialism/communism, as well. The problem with unions is they became more corrupt than the management they fought.
“End to atomic warfare”…good thing Frank wasn’t a war planner in WWII. We’d have lost thousands more fighting the Japanese.

      YOU:
You will likely find that these have mostly been transformed from “radical” goals of the 1940s into mainstream 21st century standards. Frank Marshall Davis was not out of line. He was just ahead of his time.

Everything you put in that statement proves just how intellectually bankrupt you are. You might have read Davis’ writings, but his overt support of socialism/communism went right over your head. The communist Chinese use capitalism as well…to financially prop up their regime.
“Marriage of convenience”….How. Fucking. Lame. This is like someone joining the Nazi Party or Ku Klux Klan for its “privileges, and professional and social opportunities”. When I read statements like yours I’m reminded of Vladimir Lenin’s “useful idiot” analogy.

It’s impossible to “jump” to conclusions when the conclusion was established by the very evidence provided by Obama and Davis themselves. Reading comprehension is also required for MI students. Empirical evidence with regard to Saddam’s WMDs, was verified when coalition forces discovered them. Emperical evidence of Obama and Davis’ relationship is provided through Obama’s own biography and Davis’ friends. Emperical evidence of the influence of someone like Davis on Obama’s political viewpoints is demonstrated in his policies. Focus, pal. If you lend so much creedence to Obama and Davis, then you would have reached the same conclusion. All Kincaid did was state the facts.
Dismissing that as “wishful thinking” reflects the mind of a pompous leftwing effete, rather than a rational person.
If you want a fantasy land, visit the leftwingnuts at the DailyKos, the Democratic Underground, or any one of a number of 9/11 conspiracy wackjob sites, who insist that George W. Even today, when all of the false evidence supporting Iraqi WMD stockpiles has been clearly debunked, Bush loyalists may insist their conclusions were true despite the lack of evidence.

Yeah, it’s a pity that the researchers at Powerline Blog for instance, confronted Dan Rather over his “genuine documents”, and proved that they were fake. Gee, if only the main stream media had your sense of “high standards and accuracy”. The blogosphere has its share of loonies, but there’s a good deal of information researched and reported by bloggers not covered by the MSM. Case in point: MSNBC and The New York Times are famous for spiking stories that don’t fit the leftwing narrative.
It’s a pity that some people are so anamored with B. Hussein Obama that they ignore his own words and actions in favor of venting their spleen at journalists like Cliff Kincaid. If you’re going to shoot the messenger, you need better ammuntion, bud. It’s also a pity that some people continue to deny the existence of Iraq’s WMD and refuse to read the documented reports of the discoveries, which debunks their ASSumption of “non-existence”. There’s no misrepresentation involved. Just facts. It doesn’t take a “Bush loyalist” to realize that. It’s a pity that someone who holds his “analytical skills” in such high regard, will discount verified sources, simply because they run counter to his opinions.

Davis is just one of the numerous leftwing radicals to cross paths with Obama; I’ve mentioned dozens in previous posts and at least 12 in the above post; yet you have an anal fixation on Frank Davis. (READ: http://sfcmac.wordpress.com/2009/11/23/obama-and-the-company-he-keeps/)

Here is more fabrication: “Obama joins Davis at his home on most evenings, shares alcohol and drugs, is tutored in socialism, and taught not to trust the white establishment.”

It’s interesting that you cite references when you post actual facts, but fail to identify unsubstantiated claims as speculation rather than fact. Where is your evidence that Obama:

    – Joined Davis at his home most evenings? Obama did not even see Davis for three years while in high school.
    – Shared alcohol & drugs with Davis? “Dreams” contains no such information.
    – Is tutored in socialism? “Dreams” contains no such information.

Since “I’m hardly interested in proving my research to Kincaid or any of those whose work is a travesty to scholarship,” University of Kansas Professor Edgar Tidwell, whom AIM’s Cliff Kincaid cites as “an expert on the life and writings of Davis,” dismisses misrepresentation of Davis’s influence in one simple paragraph:

“Although my research indicates that Davis joined the CPUSA as a “closet member” during World War II, there is no evidence that he was a Stalinist, or even a Party member before WWII. Further, to those attempting to make the specious stand for the concrete, there is no evidence that he instructed Barack Obama in communist ideology. Frank Marshall Davis did NOT believe in overthrowing the USA. He was committed to what the nation professed to be. For him, communism was primarily an intellectual vehicle to achieve a political end-a possible tool for gaining the constitutional freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans”

I hope you recognize that rational conservatives are able to debate issues through logic and factual arguments, whereas wingnuts are more likely to respond with personal attacks. Which are you?

As a retired Air Force Intelligence Officer with specific training in Deception Analysis by the C.I.A. in 1989, I am researching the persistence of disinformation in the blogosphere. I am familiar with disinformation campaigns, including Pope Gregory’s misrepresentation of Mary Magdalene, Russian and German misrepresentation of Judaism, Operation Fortitude protecting the D-Day invasion, Operation Left Hook protecting the coalition drive into Kuwait, and the misrepresentation of the Iraqi threat this century.

This disinformation campaign fits the pattern epitomized by “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” where a target is smeared through deliberate misrepresentation. Relying on unsubstantiated claims of mentorship to implicate Obama makes no more sense than relying on Curveball’s unsubstantiated claims of mobile weapons labs to implicate Iraq.

“Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.”

    1. Kaleokualoha,
What proof do you have to refute Obama’s own statements about his liassons with Davis? Just because you don’t like Kincaid and adore Obama doesn’t change the fact that Obama had a close relationship with Davis and that the radical socialist philosophy rubbed off. There’s a pattern isn’t there? Obama’s friendships revolved around like-minded people. His mother and father were communist/socialist and he was introduced to leftwing politics at a young age. Davis was just one of the factors.

Frank Marshall Davis was a committed communist. Everything he believed in was diametrically opposed to democracy. Of course he did not want to “overthrow the USA”, he just wanted to replace the system with one more to his liking. Hint: It wasn’t democracy. That “intellectual vehicle to achieve a political end-a possible tool for gaining the constitutional freedoms of life” has been responsible for millions of deaths. Let’s give it another chance. Life liberty and pursuit of happiness (which is in the Declaration of Independence) is already a guaranteed right in America. So much so that nihilists like Davis could run his mouth without being dragged off to a gulag.

I use strong language, I don’t mince words, and I don’t care if your feelings get hurt. Don’t try your pretentious crap with me.

I’m a retired Army Sergeant First Class, Iraq War veteran, former Intelligence Analyst, (strategic and tactical) with a background in terrorism/counter terrorism. I worked at the DIA alongside other Intel agencies, including the NSA and CIA. I also have analytical and personal experience with the Balkans, Middle East, and former Soviet Union. Prior to that, I was in a Psychological Warfare unit.
If you want to spend time on “disinformation campaigns” look no further than the likes of Obama himself and the Dems in Congress and Senate who want to shove bad legislation down our throats. During his campaign THE ONE’s staff tried like hell to suppress any and all unpleasant information regarding Obama’s past and political affiliations. They called that “disinformation” as well.

The Iraq threat was a “myth”? Keep telling yourself that. There isn’t one Islamic nation-state in the Middle East that isn’t a threat. I’d have leveled several countries into parking lots on 12 September, 2001. That’s how you fight a “jihad”. But, I’m a former Soldier, not a politican.
You need to read up on just how much Saddam Hussein tried to hide and how dangerous he was.

The fact that Obama wrote of Davis in “Dreams” is not a point of contention. The issue is whether or not Obama considered Davis to be “wise and trusted.” His book indicates otherwise. Where is your EVIDENCE that he trusted Davis in this manner?

Please debate in an adult manner. Your name calling suggests a juvenile rather than a retired NCO.

    1. Kaleokualoha,
Davis was “wise and trusted” enough for Obama to associate with him and be influenced. The common denominator is the shared philosophy, and you want to argue semantics.

As for your oversensitivity with “name-calling”: 1. I call it as I see it. If the name fits…you know the rest. and: 2. Sanctimony is no substitute for facts.

BTW: Army NCOs retired and otherwise, can name-call and cuss if they like, without your permission.

  8. Kaleokualoha

Why do you post that Frank Marshall Davis was Obama’s “mentor”? Because conservative firebrand Cliff Kincaid said so? “Dreams From My Father” belies that myth. It’s a pity Americans are so easily hoodwinked by this right-wing disinformation, just like we were duped regarding the Iraqi threat. But even today, some Americans would rather believe fully discredited lies than admit they were duped. They don’t have the courage to admit their mistakes. For everyone else: “Follow the evidence.”

Although Obama’s book indicates “Frank” was a family friend who offered him advice on racial issues, Obama wrote that Davis “fell short” and his views were “incurable.” Obama did not even visit Davis for three years before going to college. Obama’s book proves that Obama did not consider Davis to be a “wise and trusted counselor,” which is the standard definition of “mentor.” They are mutually exclusive. By what creative definition can Davis be considered his “mentor”?

By exaggerating evidence that Davis advised Obama, yet ignoring evidence from the same source that Obama did NOT Frank to be a wise and trusted advisor, those who claim Davis was Obama’s “mentor” are as dishonest as ex-D.A. Mike Nifong. The “Nifong Syndrome” is the stacking of evidence by ignoring evidence that does not fit one’s agenda. By portraying Davis as Obama’s mentor, despite conclusive evidence to the contrary, fraudulent “opposition research” by Cliff Kincaid and others permeates the blogosphere. Their travesty of journalistic ethics demonstrates that they are unreliable sources of information on the Davis-Obama relationship. As the epitome of contemporary propaganda, Cliff Kincaid may be a worthy successor to Reich Minister Joseph Goebbels.

    1. Kaleokualoha,
Bravo! What a piece of effete leftwing puffery!

Too bad it’s rife with denial.

I say that because Cliff Kincaid is not the only author to discuss Obama’s association with Davis. Like a lot of his other friends, mentors, and associates, (Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers (who incidentally was the ghostwriter for “Dreams From My Father”), Cass Sunstein, ACORN, et al) it’s a matter of public record, and his own admission.
Take your own advice and follow the evidence:

While a teenager in Hawaii, Obama spends considerable time with Frank Marshall Davis (whose identity Obama hides by describing him only as “Frank” in his book, “Dreams From My Father”). Davis is a dope-smoking drinking buddy of Obama’s grandfather, Stanley Dunham. (Obama had met Davis shortly after arriving in Hawaii, at age 10, but was most influenced by him during his high school years.) In place of his absent father and stepfather, Davis becomes Obama’s mentor. [19,21]

Davis is a member of the Communist Party of the USA, poet, propagandist, “bitter opponent of capitalism,” and radical agitator; in 1948, Davis had fled Chicago after the FBI and the House Un-American Activities Committee investigated his subversive anti-American activities. Davis is also a bi-sexual, sex pervert, child molester (bragging of repeated sexual encounters with a 13 year-old girl), and pornographer, and is the author of the book “Sex Rebel: Black” under the pseudonym Bob Greene. Davis “…would cruise in Hawaii parks looking for couples or female tourists to have sex with. He derived sexual gratification from bondage, simulated rape and being flogged and urinated on. He boasted that ‘the number of white babes interested in at least one meeting with a Negro male has been far more than I can handle’ and wished ‘America were as civilised as, say, Scandinavia.’” He concluded: ‘I regret none of my experiences or unusual appetites; for me they are normal.’” [21,259,261]

Obama joins Davis at his home on most evenings, shares alcohol and drugs, is tutored in socialism, and taught not to trust the white establishment. “They’ll train you so good,” Davis said, “you’ll start believing what they tell you about equal opportunity and the American way and all that shit.” Davis teaches Obama, “Black people have a reason to hate” and “You may be a well-trained, well-paid nigger, but you’re a nigger just the same.” [22,33,261]

Davis’ Marxist-inspired poetry includes lines like, “Smash on, victory-eating Red Army!” Titles of his poems include, “Christ is a Dixie Nigger.” [261]

It is believed that Davis was a close friend of Thomas Ayers (father of William Ayers) in Chicago, and that it was Davis who encouraged Obama to attend Columbia College in New York and hook up with William Ayers. [259]
      http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/10/26/the-obama-timeline-1961-2008/

Obamabots have their heads so far up THE ONE’S ass they can taste everything he eats. Pathetic.
His corrupt Chicago-based socialist upbringing shaped his philosophy and agenda. They refuse to acknowledge that Obama is a nihilist because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
      An added note:

“Barack Obama is also an Alinskyite…. Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method. In 1985 he began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project…. Camouflage is key to Alinsky-style organizing. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for not attending church himself. He became an instant churchgoer.” (By Richard Poe, 11-27-07)

As for Joseph Goebbles, the current crop of leftwingnut Dems in Congress and Senate put the Nazi propagandist to shame. Their jack-booted attempts to shove government-run health care down our throats, negotiating behind closed doors, shutting American citizens out of debate, and shredding the Constitution, is just the beginning. It will take years to unfuck all the damage by the time they get through.
Harry Reid even tries to put a smiley face on the tyranny:

On the floor before the vote, Majority Leader Harry Reid said, “We’re going to hear an earful, but it’s going to be an earful of wonderment and happiness that people waited for for a long time.”

      Goebbels had a similar tactic:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

According to Reid’s Nevada constituents, his poll ratings are in the toilet. Americans are pretty pissed off at the hubris of Harry and his fellow autocrats.

You have your panties in a bunch over the mention of Davis’ influence in Obama’s life, when you ought to be focused on the larger picture; the fact that his cabinet is stocked with Frank Marshall Davis clones who not only share Obama’s radical agenda, but make decisions that affect the national security and domestic policies of the United States.
