Obama’s favorite bank gets a pass.
Via Big Government.
Late last week, at the 11th hour, the Senate removed an amendment that would have required the inspector general of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to investigate the corrupt ShoreBank bailout, as well as every other bailout since January 2009. It is the clearest sign yet that the White House and Democrats in Congress are covering up the truth. If there is nothing to hide, why block the ShoreBank investigation?
……Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times–who is close to Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), the main political sponsor of the ShoreBank bailout–asks: “What exactly does Chicago’s ShoreBank have to do to survive?” But the real question she and other journalists must ask–and would ask, if this were any other bank–is: “What exactly are Democrats trying to hide?” If this Congress won’t investigate corruption, we ought to elect one that will.
The story behind Shore Bank:
So politically connected is Shore Bank that Chicago politicians like Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Jan Schakowsky attempted the first-ever state bailout of a bank. Why would they do that? There are some serious questions about this that concern, in part, Rep. Schakowski’s husband Robert Creamer, who was convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2006. Apparently, Shore Bank was a part of his check kiting scheme. Rep. Schakowski has been very public in her attempts to raise cash for the struggling bank and avoid its seizure by federal regulators.
The whys here demand attention. Why is every powerful politician trying to save Shore Bank? It isn’t altruism – it’s more likely to be save-my-butt-ism.
I suspect that Obama is likely one of the prominent Dems deeply connected to this Chicago bank. BTW: Robert Creamer is one of the communist Alinskyites behind the ObamaCare catastrophe. He’s also a convicted felon with ties to ACORN, the SEIU, and Rod Blagojevich.
