WaPo’s Richard Cohen Inches Toward Reality

Cohen opines about Obama’s “enigmatic intellectualism”:

It can seem that at the heart of Barack Obama’s foreign policy is no heart at all. It consists instead of a series of challenges — of problems that need fixing, not wrongs that need to be righted. As Winston Churchill once said of a certain pudding, Obama’s approach to foreign affairs lacks theme. So, it seems, does the man himself.

For instance, it’s not clear that Obama is appalled by China’s appalling human rights record. He seems hardly stirred about continued repression in Russia. He treats the Israelis and their various enemies as pests of equal moral standing. The president seems to stand foursquare for nothing much.

This, of course, is the Obama enigma: Who is this guy? What are his core beliefs? The president himself is no help on this score. When it comes to his own image, he has a tin ear…

“Enigmatic intellectualism”??   I said this before:  He can’t string together a coherent sentence when his teleprompter quits. He thinks 10,000 people were killed by a single tornado in Kansas, that there are 57 states, one of which is called “New Pennsylvania”, where the “Nitally Lions” play. He also thinks the White Sox play in “Cominsky Field”, “Austrian” is spoken in Austria, and that Iran is a “tiny country”. What a Harvard-educated moron. He’s an abject failure; a Jimmy Carter 2.0 socialist with a disastrous ecomomic policy, and a foreign policy that makes Neville Chamberlain look like a tough guy.

Other than that, he’s a fucking genius.

As for “image”, you should know all about that, Cohen. MSM asslcowns like you sold his ‘image’ throughout the campaign. His “cool on display” nuance was so preferable over a smart, articulate, experienced Alaska governor. We sure dodged a bullet there, didn’t we?

Obama’s opaqueness has enabled his enemies — they are not mere critics — to define him as they choose. He becomes a socialist, which he is not, or a Muslim, which he also is not. Even his allies are confused. The left thought he was a leftie. He’s not. The right, too, thought he was a leftie. He is, above all, a pragmatist. This makes it a lot easier to say what he is not than what he is.

Cohen seems a bit confused himself.
Obama reeks of socialism.  That is his core belief. He’s a dyed-in-the-wool Chicago Alinskyite. He nationalized healthcare, seized control of several major insurance companies and banks, and took over two big auto industries.  He rails against eeeeeevil capitalists and corporations. His “spread/redistribute the wealth” mantra  is being rammed through the legislature.  He throws millions of taxpayer dollars down the union shithole. But he “isn’t a socialist”? His friends, mentors, organizations, and philosophy have always been radicalized and socialist.

As for the muslim tag: B. Hussein Obama has Islamic extremists for friends and has appointed some of them to government positions.
Just a few examples:
The Arab-American Action Network: Founded by Rashid Khalidi, a PLO operative who attended the University of Chicago and ran in the same circles as Associate Dean Michelle Obama, Law Professor Barack Obama, University of Illinois-Chicago Education Professor Bill Ayers, and Northwestern Law Professor Bernadine Dohrn. The Woods Fund donated $75,000 to the AAAN.

Arif Alikhan: Assistant secretary for the Office of Policy Development at the Department of Homeland Security. Alikhan was instrumental in removing the Muslim terror tracking plan in LA, along with the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, and Muslim Advocates. All muslim radical organizations.

He may not be “muslim” per se, but he sure chums around with them.

One year and five months into what was supposed to be a raging liberal wetdream, has turned into a sorry-assed disappointment. The pissing and moaning coming from leftwing commentators was expected well in advance by those of us who actually paid attention to the lack of real substance in Obama’s character. But he talked a good spiel and charmed a lot of gullible people.

His statist policies have been challenged by Americans who support and defend the Constitution, the nation’s debt, deficit, and unemployment have skyrocketed, and the world’s Islamic terrorist scumbags haven’t given up their quest for a Caliphate.  After January 2009, wasn’t the planet supposed to get together, join hands and sing Kumbaya? 

“Pragmatism”.  That’s a word describing what happens when reality bites you right in the ass.
