White Plains Newspaper Tries to Intimidate Gun Owners (UPDATED)

Some background: In 2009, a liberal rag from Tennessee called the Commercial Appeal published the names and addresses of 200,000 Tennessee citizens who are legal gun owners.  A blogger, ‘Linoge’ at The Walls of the City, turned the tables on the assholes and proceeded to publish the names, home addresses and phone numbers of the newspaper staff.  Story HERE.

Hilarity ensued when the paper complained about their privacy being invaded. Liberals hate the shoe being forced onto the other foot.

Well, it’s happened again. Another douche bag liberal newspaper publisher, this time for The Journal-News of White Plains, NY, decided to print a clickable map as well as the full names and addresses of LEGAL gun owners in three New York counties. The publisher, Janet Hasson, probably had no idea of the hell she unleashed.

Big mistake.

A blogger, Christopher Fountain at For What Its Worth, decided that Janet and her little editorial crew should get a taste of their own medicine.  He found Hasson’s address, pictures of the inside of her home on Zillow, and her personal likes and dislikes pulled from her credit card records:

Janet Hasson, 3 Gate House Lane, Mamaroneck, NY 10534.

Phone number: (248) 594-2197; you might also try (914) 525-1923, but the area code is just a guess on the assumption that this number is a land line.

Here’s a photo showing her Mamaroneck house – interior shots are on Zillow:

Janet Hasson, 3 Gate House Rd, Mamaroneck

All of the information posted by Chris Fountain is a matter of public record. He didn’t have to hack into anyone’s personal computer files to get the information.

Drop Janet a line, or even better, ring her home phone off the fucking hook like a telemarketer trying to sell time shares in Florida.

More from Chris’ blog:
Did the Journal-News break the law by posting gun permit holders’ names?
So how does Journal – News reporter Dwight R. Worley rate a NYC pistol permit?

UPDATE from Chris:

The Journal-News is hung on its own petard.

Keep up the heat – and look who’s got the home address of Cyndee Royle, editor of the Journal-News?:

Reader “Jeff” sends along a link to the latest article in the White Plains tabloid, Journal-News, reporting on the hornets nest occasioned by their publication of an interactive map showing the identity and address of all registered gun owners in Westchester County and surrounding areas.

Editor Cyndee Royle defends her decision and in fact sounds quite smug about it. Her paper is apparently still trying to obtain, and publish, information on how many guns, and their type, are registered to each owner, presumably to make shopping easier for gun thieves. Nothing more disappointing than getting a Remington 870 when you’ve been hoping for a Ruger Mini Thirty.

Let’s keep those cards and letters (and telephone calls, of course) coming.

EDITOR:

Miss Royle’s married name is Lambert. She lives in White Plains and here is her Facebook page complete with pictures of her and her kids. Hello Sanctimony.

UPDATE:
Oooooooo and lookie here.  Robert Cox from Talk of the Sound just compiled an interactive map called: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?

Note to Janet Hasson and company: Payback’s a bitch.

back fire for sure.. but those poor families who don’t own guns.. now the crooks know who THEY are.. this opens the door for those WITHOUT guns to be more VULNERABLE. Releasing the names of those with guns may keep the smarter thieves away from the gun owners’ homes.
