This is what happens when unqualified, subpar dredges get a job because they checked some “box”.
A self-described “woke” Pentagon equity chief, who is currently under probe over anti-White tweets uncovered by Fox News Digital, recommended a “social justice” book for classrooms which called 9/11 first responders “menaces.”
Kelisa Wing is a diversity, equity and inclusion chief at the Pentagon’s education wing – the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). She is involved in curriculum at DoDEA, which services over 60,000 military-connected children at 160 schools around the globe, according to a press release announcing her position in December 2021.
Fox News Digital found that on two occasions DoDEA’s diversity, equity and inclusion chief promoted the anti-police book “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates while representing herself as an employee of the Pentagon’s education wing.
Coates wrote in “Between the World and Me” about 9/11 responders, “They were not human to me. Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body.”
The Pentagon was one of the targets of radical Islamic terrorists on Sept. 11; 125 people in the Pentagon and 59 people aboard American Airlines Flight 77 were killed.
According to a Department of Defense historian, “In the first terrifying minutes after the plane crashed into the building the swift actions of survivors and rescuers helped save the lives of many who would otherwise have perished.”
In 2018, when Wing was a teacher, she advocated for “Between the World and Me” to be used in classrooms in an article published to “Digital Promise,” an Obama-era organization created by Congress which helps teachers monitor “stereotype threats” of students. Wing currently sits on the advisory board of the nonprofit, according to her website.
The article recommended teachers include materials from a “Social Justice Book List.” One of the anti-police books recommended was “Between the World and Me.”
……Wing is currently under probe for tweets which referred to White people as “Karen[s]” and said she was “exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions.” The matter will be taken to the Under Secretary of Personnel and Readiness – Gil Cisneros – for a final decision 30 days after the initial review, which started on September 19, the Pentagon told Fox News.

……As a result of these tweets, as well as the books she co-authored, 22 House Republicans — including some on the Armed Services Committee — requested that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin take “immediate action” to investigate her for “egregious bias.”
“This woke ideology is destroying our military and poisoning the minds of American children,” Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., said.
“If Biden wants to know why he has a recruitment problem and low morale, he need look no further,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said.
Mark Nuckols at Townhall explains why Coates is what he is:
Coates is an ill-tempered and self-pitying hack who has found a very lucrative franchise for himself writing about how awful America is and how unbearably hard life is for African-Americans. Yes, so tragically hard that someone barely literate and as ignorant as Coates can make a very comfortable living giving speeches and teaching writing seminars at Ivy League universities and be fawned over by well-meaning but naïve people like Brooks.
By the way, I have corresponded with Coates, and I was honestly shocked at his inability to write a single sentence without simple grammatical mistakes, his profound ignorance, and his endlessly self-absorbed narcissism. I do not envy his editors at The Atlantic or the New York Times. But I did also enjoy a few cheap laughs reading Coates’ columns a few years back as he described in heroic detail how he had mastered A2 level French (i.e. Elementary, just enough proficiency to order dinner or ask directions). For a few months he made a point of ostentatiously throwing in random French expressions into his columns, just to remind everyone I’m An Angry Black American And I Speak French, Take That Mofos.
Angry, illiterate, and black is apparently all that is required to write a book.
Wing is a “bash whitey” bigot who got a job in the Dept. of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) as part of Milley’s and Austin’s “woke” policies.
I am SO GLAD I retired in 2006. I can just see myself running afoul of the grotesque out-of-control Progs in the military hierarchy.
I would discourage anyone from enlisting unless or until America gets real leadership that will eradicate the grip of Marxist doctrine infecting the military.
God help us if we get into another full scale war.
