The CIA said Thursday it gave false information to Congress about the “Spies Who Lie” who suggested incriminating documents from Hunter Biden’s laptop were Russian disinformation.
In the stunning twist that’s heightening congressional doubts about the impartiality and reliability of America’s premier spy agency, the CIA said in a letter acquired by The Post that former agency acting director Michael Morell was not a contractor at the time he organized the October 2020 laptop statement.
That contradicted the agency’s previous testimony to Congress that he was under contract.
“This mistake was based on a misreading of the contract documentation,” Robert Dugas, CIA deputy general counsel of litigations and investigations, wrote in a Wednesday letter to Morell’s lawyers, which the CIA acknowledged to The Post Thursday.
“CIA regrets the error in its initial provision of information in this matter.”
The walk-back stoked outrage among House Republicans, who published the agency-provided information last month.
“With this after-the-fact revelation, it’s hard to believe anything the CIA says,” said Russell Dye, a spokesman for the House Judiciary Committee.
“The CIA confirmed this information multiple times for the committee, and only changed its story after Michael Morell complained.”
“They would now have us believe that Morell was on contract before and after the Hunter Biden statement, but miraculously was not on contract at the time of the statement — but they refuse to provide details,” Dye added.
Some of the 51 “Spies Who Lie” were active CIA contractors when they claimed files from first son Hunter Biden’s laptop had “the classic earmarks” of Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 election — a fact that was uneasily noted inside the agency, records acquired by The Post show.
Ex-CIA inspector general David Buckley was a contractor at the time of the letter, according to an interim report from two House committees investigating the matter, and records suggest that at least two other letter-signers may also have had active contracts at the time.
The terms of the contracts and compensation were not immediately clear.
Corrupt former CIA Director John Brennan was hauled in front of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government to testify concerning the Hunter Biden laptop letter that 51 intelligence officials signed falsely claiming it was Russian disinformation.
“[Brennan] sat for a four-hour interview and he further confirmed that this thing was all political.”
The FBI suppressed the criminal evidence in Hunter Biden’s laptop, and protects the Biden family from being charged with their crimes–including treason with ChiCom business partners.
The FBI has had the contents of the hard drive since 2019.
The DOJ and the FBI are corrupt to the core. Both of them sat on Hunter Biden’s laptop and refused to admit that the contents contain a trove of evidence against the Biden Family Crime Syndicate.
In October 2022, MarcoPoloUSA.org, a non-profit research group, published a 640-page investigation on the Biden laptop that meticulously documents 459 crimes involving the Biden crime family and their associates. It includes Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violations, money laundering, and tax fraud. It exposed how politicized federal law enforcement agencies protect the Biden family from prosecution while targeting Biden’s political opponents, especially Donald Trump.
They dug deep into Hunter Biden’s laptop and published all the incredibly damning evidence of Biden’s criminal activity. It’s pretty extensive.
