The Riviera Beach City Council in South Florida voted Wednesday to rename Old Dixie Highway after Obama, following residents’ concerns that “Old Dixie” represents America’s racist past.
“I got a little worried for a minute, because we didn’t seem at first to have the majority,” said Mayor Thomas Masters, who proposed the change. He argued that “Old Dixie” still “invokes memories of racism and slavery in the Old South.”
The reaction was mixed on changing the name during Wednesday’s meeting, a local NBC affiliate reported. Some argued it would symbolize an inspiring new chapter in the predominantly black neighborhood. Others took issue with naming the road after Obama, because they believe he hasn’t done anything to help the struggling community.
“What we do we have to show for Barack Obama on Old Dixie?” asked one Riviera Beach woman who said she’s lived in the area since the ‘60s,NBC reported.
Her concern was echoed by Chair Dawn Pardo and two other residents who spoke and said the area is full of blight, NBC reported.
How fucking desperate and craven do you have to be to inject “racism” into everything.
Resurrecting the corpse of slavery and color discrimination is so much easier than personal accountability, especially when Jim Crow was a creation of the Democratic Party.
The Democrats have controlled America’s major urban areas for almost half a century. It’s a symbiotic relationship; they maintain power through the victimization of minorities. The entitlement culture will always expect a handout, and the Dems will always be there to give it to them. The bigotry of low expectations.
There are underlying issues for the crime and poverty in black communities, all of which have been fueled by a political agenda designed to keep them on the Dem plantation.
The race card and voting pigment over substance has become a permanent plank in the Dems’ platform, and Obama used it as a political tool to sway minority voters. It worked. 7 years into The Anointed One’s tenure, some of them have finally figured that out.

This entirely ignores the definition of “White”, and relies upon an extremely racist form of special pleading known as “the one-drop rule”. Why should the child of a White man and Black woman be “non-White” instead of “non-Black”? If you have a town that’s made up of 50% Irish and 50% Italians, and everyone marries randomly, only a quarter of couples will be Irish-Irish and another quarter Italian-Italian and half will be Irish-Italian, and if we repeat the process only 1/16th will be pure-Italian, and then 1/256th in the next generation. Were all the Italians “replaced” by spud-munchers, or is the town still half-Italian? So too with “non-White” people; of course the number of babies without any “non-White” ancestors will decrease over time in a free society.
