Harry Reid, one of the leading mealy-mouths in the democratic party, lets everyone know he wants to get tough on bad guys.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told CBS’s Bob Schieffer on Sunday that some members of Congress were considering some kind of action in response to the Florida Quran burning that sparked a murderous riot at a United Nations complex in Afghanistan and other mayhem.
“Ten to 20 people have been killed,” Reid said on “Face the Nation,” but refused to say flat-out that the Senate would pass a resolution condemning pastor Terry Jones.
“We’ll take a look at this of course…as to whether we need hearings or not, I don’t know,” he added.
RINO Lindsay Graham piped up with this idiotic statement:
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war. During World War II, we had limits on what you could say if it would inspire the enemy.”
Hey Lindsay, the New York Times and Wikileaks make a habit of publishing classified information—claiming “free speech” in the process—that compromises the mission of American troops and puts our national security in jeopardy, but I don’t see you or your ideological soul mate Reid getting wrapped around the axle.
People were slaughtered by muslim cutthroats in Afghanistan, but they want to crack down on a book-burner in Florida.
If only Congress had the same committment to plow through Islamofascist states and get this war finished.
With assholes like them in government, who the fuck needs Islamic terrorists?
Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan’s incompetent president, requested that Congress formally condemn Koran burning, but there are reports that he actually incited the riots.
Both Afghan and international news media had initially played down or ignored the actions of Mr. Jones, the Florida pastor. On Thursday, however, President Karzai made a speech and issued statements condemning the Koran burning and calling for the arrest of Mr. Jones for his actions. On Friday, that theme was picked up in mosques throughout Afghanistan.
“Karzai brought this issue back to life, and he has to take some responsibility for starting this up,” said a prominent Afghan businessman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution if he was identified as a critic of the president.
“Karzai’s speech itself provoked people to take such actions,” said Qayum Baabak, a political analyst in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Oh, Afghanistan is so much better off with this douchebag in charge. We’re fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda, just so this assclown can pick up where they leave off?
We are so screwed.
Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who oversaw the burning of a Koran last month, said he did not feel responsible for the violent protest at a United Nations compound in Afghanistan today that left at least 11 dead. Instead, he said the violence proved his point.
“We wanted to raise awareness of this dangerous religion and dangerous element,” Jones said. “I think [today’s attack] proves that there is a radical element of Islam.”
The ‘dangerous religion and dangerous element’ aspects have been part of Islam since the 7th Century.
