Israeli officials expect retaliation from Iran in short order, per the British news outlet.
“Following the State of Israel’s preemptive strike against Iran, a missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future,” Israel’s Defense Minister Ian Katz remarked in a statement.
The attacks from Israel come after the United States withdrew embassy personnel in the Middle East from locations within striking distance of Iran.

On Thursday, Major Gen. Hossein Salami — the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the powerful branch of Iran’s armed forces set up by the theocratic regime after it took power in 1979 — was bragging on state media about how a recent haul of what he claimed were Israeli nuclear and military documents were proof Israeli intelligence was “permeable and threadbare,” claiming the haul would “enhance the country’s offensive capabilities.”
By Friday morning, he was dead, a victim of that “permeable and threadbare” Israeli intelligence.
The attack, The Wall Street Journal reported, “killed a number of Salami’s colleagues as well.”
“The attack echoed earlier strikes on meetings of the Lebanese militia Hezbollah and the Gaza Strip militant group Hamas that wiped out many of their top leaders, highlighting Israel’s intelligence capabilities and success at catching its enemies by surprise,” the outlet reported.
After decades of serving as a standing target for terrorist attacks masterminded by Iran, the Israeli military was not messing around.

Also killed, according to the Times, were Gholamali Rashid, deputy commander in chief of the military; Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of Iran’s air force; and Major Gen. Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard, an elite military force — and two of Iran’s top nuclear scientists.
The attacks also damaged the Iranian nuclear site at Natanz, about 200 miles south of Tehran, according to Fox News.
“We struck at the heart of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. We struck at the heart Iran’s nuclear weaponization program,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said as he announced the raids, according to The Jerusalem Post.

After Israel conducted airstrikes in Iran, many leftists claimed Israel was taking “immoral” actions and pursuing “dangerous escalation” with the Iranian regime, a state sponsor of terrorism that funds violent groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, which seek Israel’s destruction.
“The Israeli government bombing Iran is a dangerous escalation that could lead to regional war,” said Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a member of the “Squad.” “War Criminal Netanyahu will do anything to maintain his grip on power. We cannot let him drag our country into a war with Iran. Our government must stop funding and supporting this rogue genocidal regime.”
Tlaib’s fellow “Squad” member, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), added, “Regardless of what Trump thinks, Israel knows America will do whatever they want and feels confident about their ability to get into war and have the American government back them up. Israel also knows they can always rely on getting America to protect and serve its needs. Everyone in America should prepare themselves to either see their tax dollars being spent on weapon supplies to Israel or be dragged into war with Iran if this escalates.”
The sooner Iranian dictators are wiped out, the better off Iranian women will be.
