From The People’s Cube.
Our friend, Larry Grathwohl, has died.
Larry served our country above and beyond the call of duty by infiltrating Weather Underground subversives and reporting on their seditious plots to the FBI, on which he would later testify before Congress.
Lest people think that the Weather Underground is a forgotten movement from US history, many of its former leaders now hold prominent roles in academia and serve in key Obama administration positions. The WU still calls the shots, having exchanged bombs for briefcases, and actively promoting the destruction of America.
This year Larry republished his book Bringing Down America, which chronicles his experiences with the Weathermen, and went on a book tour. We met him when he visited Florida and became friends.
He was funny, had a sharp mind, and was an eloquent speaker. We consider ourselves lucky for being able to spend some quality downtime with Larry and on several occasions pick his brain about his life with the radicals and beyond, over a bottle of Maker’s Mark, his favorite.
We wrote about Larry Grathwohl and his work here:
Larry Grathwohl, Hero
Larry was also a United States Army veteran who served in Vietnam, 1965 – 1966 in the 2/502 Infantry 1st Brigade 101st Airborne Division.
From the Cincinnati Enquirer:
Larry David, loving father of Denise, Lindsay and Lisa, grandfather of Lance, Michael and Brendan. He is survived by his mother, Mary Rickard and siblings, Lee (Bonnie), Mary Jo (Rick), Joey (Peg), Teresa (Ed), Sean (Trudy) and nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend, Sandi. Larry served his country with valor and distinction. He risked his life to defend his nation, first in Viet Nam as a member of the 101st Airborne Division where he was awarded the Bronze Star, and later with the FBI to combat terrorism in the form of the Weather Underground. Larry then authored “Bringing Down America”, a book that recounted the story of how he battled radical terror. Larry, a resident of Pierce Township, passed away July 18, 2013 at the age of 65. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24 from 9 AM until the time of funeral service at 11 AM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St., Amelia. Interment with military honors at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Larry’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) to support veterans and their families. www.ecnurre.com
He exposed some pretty nasty shit about about the Weather Underground, including their ideas about “re-educating America” after they created a Communist utopia. It involved the “re-education” of 100 million Americans and the elimination (killing) of 25 million people in “re-education” camps. They wanted to emulate their hero, Ho Chi Minh.
Obama’s pal Bill Ayers was a prominent figure in the Weather Underground. He participated in the planning of (among dozens of other terrorist acts) the attempted murder of a NY Supreme Court justice and his family, the murder of San Francisco Police Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell and wounding eight other police officers, the 1971 bombing of the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., and the 1975 bombing of the U.S. State Department building in Washington, D.C.
In 1981, Weather Underground members David J. Gilbert and Kathy Boudin hooked up with a black nationalist group called “The Family”, to carry out a Brinks armored car robbery. Two police officers and a security guard were murdered.
Of the 13 WU leaders indicted for the terrorism spree, only Boudin, Gilbert, and Matthew Landy Steen, who was a culprit in the U.S. Capitol bombing, spent time in prison. No other WU member was ever convicted of the crimes they committed.
In 1973 the government requested dropping charges against most of the WUO members. The requests cited a decision by the SCOTUS that barred electronic surveillance without a court order, which effectively voided the government’s case. It did not want to disclose the foreign intelligence secrets that would come out during trial. Steen’s sentence was commuted by bat-shit stupid Jimmy Carter, who gave amnesty to every scumbag he could.
Boudin was paroled in 2003, and (surprise) along with fellow terrorist Bill Ayers, has joined the ranks of leftwing academic intelligentsia.
Larry’s undercover work revealed just how sick, twisted, and criminally insane Bill Ayers and his motley crew of leftwing radical douchebags really were.
You did a great service as a Soldier and an undercover informant. A true patriot.
