The city of Detroit faces a major financial crisis and one member of city council thinks Barack Obama should step in and help.
City Council member JoAnn Watson said Tuesday the citizens support of Obama in last month’s election was enough reason for the president to bailout the struggling the city.
“Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that,” said Watson. “Of course, not just that, but why not?”
Nearly 75 percent of Wayne County voters pulled the lever for Obama in November.
“After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C. He came home with some bacon,” said Watson. “That’s what you do.”
They want ‘bacon’ in the form of “Obama money”, Obama phones, exclusion from income tax, and of course, welfare and food stamps.
Watson is exactly the kind of “gimmiedat” slug I’ve been writing about. Minorities flock to the Dems because of the endless promises of handouts, welfare, and free rides. The democratic party shamelessly exploits blacks and Hispanics, and they in turn, follow like sheeple. It’s easy to get elected when you campaign as the Candy Man.
Watson made no mention of jobs, putting people back to work, or incentives for local businesses. Just “gimmie mo money”. Sorry Watson, Detroit won’t get the same consideration as Government Motors, unless there’s a way Obama can take over the city too, and I wouldn’t put it past him to have an idea like that. By the way, GM is about to go bankrupt again, and homeboy’s Chicago is looking for a payoff, so take a number.
Besides, you’ve already served as a re-election tool so he doesn’t need you anymore. You’ve been discarded like used toilet paper.
