Surprise: Young Liberal Voters Think Bigger Government is Just Awesome

A Pew Research post-election poll found that a majority of young voters who were 18-29 years of age preferred bigger government.

According to the survey, 59% of young voters said “government should do more to solve problems” while only 37% felt “government is doing too many things better left to businesses and individuals.”

Naturally, as a result of these views, young voters not only were more likely to back President Barack Obama, they were also more likely to identify themselves as “Democrats” and “liberals” than older voters.

A plurality of younger voters (44%) said they were Democrats, while 26% said they were Republicans, and 30% claimed they were “independents.”

In addition, a third of young voters described themselves as “liberal,” while 41% claimed they were moderate and 26% said they were conservative.

When it came to Obamacare, 34% said the law should be expanded even more, while 19% said it should be kept in place.

These kids are going to get a rude awakening when they get stuck with the debt from ObamaCare and the rest of Obama’s kleptocracy. It’s one thing to get excited about a presidential candidate. It’s another thing to live with the consequences.
There’s a similarity between the youth culture in Europe and the American youth in liberal college campuses, coffee shops, and Bohemian neighborhoods. All of them have been inculcated by left-over 60′s radicals who now fill the ranks of academic intelligentsia.

They’re gonna change the world, to hear them tell it. No more evil, rich corporations exploiting the poor, and best of all, no more war. Everybody’s gonna hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

America is in its death throes. Our economy, politics, foreign policy, national security, and personal freedoms are literally being confiscated by an out-of-control big government train wreck.

After these children grow up and have to live and work in the real world, we’ll see how they react to the Obama-inspired system they helped create.
