From Breitbart.
Republicans blistered Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Wednesday over the nation’s controversial health care law, bluntly challenging her honesty, pushing for her resignation and demanding unsuccessfully she concede that Barack Obama deliberately misled the public about his signature domestic program.
……During two hours in the Senate Finance Committee witness chair, Sebelius parried some thrusts and listened impassively to others. Treated more gently by Democrats than Republicans, she said at one point: “Clearly the opposition is still quite ferocious, and I’m just hoping that people understand what their options are, what their benefits could be and what their opportunities are.”
She offered few if any concessions about a program she pointedly observed “passed both houses of Congress, was signed by the president and upheld by the Supreme Court.”
That’s the DemProg’s stock answer. The Dem-controlled Congress and Senate pushed this toxic, oppressive, socialist monstrosity through the legislature and besides, the SCOTUS upheld it as a tax. In other words: “We’re going to do what we want, so get over it.”
……Republican criticism and questions have turned in recent days into other areas, some blending policy and politics. Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, one of Sebelius’ most aggressive questioners, read aloud from a page of the White House website that says: “If you like your plan, you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law.” Turning to Sebelius, he said, “Well, we know that lying to Congress is a crime, but unfortunately lying to the American people is not. I’d just like to ask you a simple true-or-false question. Is that statement on the White House website true or is it false?” Sebelius said, “Sir, I think the statement is that. …” before Cornyn cut her off. “Is it true or is it false, Madame Secretary?” he asked. She said “a vast majority” of people who are insured through their jobs would keep their plans and “a majority” of the 11 million in the individual market will keep plans with stronger coverage while “others will have to choose if they have to choose if they have a brand new plan and not a grandfathered—have to choose of a plan that they no longer get medically underwritten. …” Cornyn responded, “I will just ask that the record … note that you have refused to answer my question whether it’s true or false.”
If lying to Congress is really a crime, jail cells should be full of perjurers. Lying to the American people, on the other hand, is a political prerequisite.
In 2010, the Health and Human Services Report projected that 93 million Americans would lose their health insurance because of ObamaCare. Sebelius et al, ignored that as much as they did the actual contents of the ObamaCare bill.
One particularly tense moment at the Senate Finance Committee hearing Wednesday morning with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius came when Kansas Republican Senator Pat Roberts called for her resignation again.
He spoke at length during the hearing, expressing his disappointment at the lack of information provided to Congress throughout the website’s development – including some warnings of problems ahead by government investigators.
“In short, Madam Secretary, I believe you were given advice, counsel and warning from experts inside your agency and out that the health care exchanges were not going to be ready. Furthermore, I believe to protect the administration, you chose to ignore these warnings, and as a result, you have put our entire health care system and one-sixth of our economy in jeopardy.”
“You have said America should hold you for — accountable, which is why today, Madam Secretary, I repeat my request for you to resign,” he said.
Mrs. Sebelius looked stony-faced throughout Sen. Roberts’s comments. She didn’t respond.
He first called for her resignation last month in a statement. This time he did it to her face.
He really doesn’t expect this thuggish, snooty bitch to resign does he? Such insolence from the peons! Queen Sebelius does not work for the ‘little people’.
“Some of you may die, but that is a risk I am willing to take”
—Lord Farquaad from Shrek
She declared that under ObamaCare, ‘Some will live and some will die.
‘It’s the GOP’s fault that the website won’t work, and you’ve gotta be kidding if you think she’s going to enroll in ObamaCare. Her response to the fact that Obama is ultimately responsible for the ObamaCare disaster: “Whatever”.
Some more unbelievable statements:
‘We have no data on ObamaCare enrollment’
‘I’m not eligible for ObamaCare’ (Oh, yes she is)
‘The website never crashed, it just runs slow’
The same thing happens no matter which tool in the Obama regime testifies before Congress. They lie, cover up, obstruct justice, dismiss outrage, blame others, and literally get away with contempt.
Eric Holder lied about his and Obama’s Fast and Furious gunrunning operation, and committed perjury during Congressional testimony about the DOJ’s illegal seizure of reporter’s emails and phone records.
Former IRS chief Lois Lerner lied in a hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Affairs, about her role in targeting Tea Party groups.
DNI Chief James Clapper lied about the NSA’s blanket surveillance on America.
NSA Director General Kieth Alexander also lied about the agency’s domestic collection methods.
Hillary Clinton lied, spun, and shifted blame for the Benghazi disaster when she testified before Congress.
The Obama regime is made up of arrogant, smug, self-absorbed, conceited autocrats who invent their own laws for political gain; it’s all about control. The sad fact is, neither the petty little tyrant in the White House nor his Politburo will ever be held accountable for the crimes they’ve committed.
Like Bubba Clinton, he deserves to be under Leavenworth, but we know that won’t happen.
