Now that the latest Islamic-inspired atrocity is over, everyone is assessing the failure of the Indian government, its unpreparedness in response to the Pakistan-based terrorists, and how they were able to carry out such an attack.
Indian police have heard the first full account of what led up to the devastating attacks in Mumbai from the only terrorist captured alive, who told authorities that he was ordered to kill “until the last breath,” the U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper reported Sunday.
Azam Amir Kasab, 21, the only terrorist to survive a raid by Indian commandos, told authorities that the attacks included 10 terrorists in a heavily orchestrated plan devised six months ago, that hoped to kill 5,000 people — targeting mostly “whites, preferably Americans and British,” the Mail reported.
The terrorists reportedly posed as students during a visit to Mumbai a month ago, to familiarize themselves with the city’s roads and to film the “strike locations.”
“…targeting mostly ‘whites’….” How racist.
A timeline of the 60 hour gun battle:
Speculation on the culprits:
So far, most security analysts, intelligence experts and news reports have focused on two potential culprits: Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist group in Pakistan, and Indian Mujahideen, a shadowy organization in India.
Lashkar (linked to al-Qaeda) is the leading contender, a U.S. counterterrorism official told FOX News, though the group denied any role in the attacks.
And claiming responsibility:
……A previously unknown Muslim group called Deccan Mujahideen _ a name suggesting origins inside India has claimed responsibility. But Indian officials said the sole surviving gunman, now in custody, was from Pakistan and voiced suspicions of their volatile neighbor. Nine other attackers were killed, they said.
The entire Middle East and Southwest Asia is a rancid cesspool of Islamic terrorist breeding.
Pakistan’s government and intelligence service is rife with Taliban operatives and the country is a safe haven for enemy combatants fleeing Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, a team of FBI agents is flying to India to investigate, and a second group of investigators was on alert to join them if necessary, U.S. authorities said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the operation.
