NSA Whistleblower: Trump is Right About Wiretaps

From US News and World Report

President Donald Trump is “absolutely right” to claim he was wiretapped and monitored, a former NSA official claimed Monday, adding that the administration risks falling victim to further leaks if it continues to run afoul of the intelligence community.

“I think the president is absolutely right. His phone calls, everything he did electronically, was being monitored,” Bill Binney, a 36-year veteran of the National Security Agency who resigned in protest from the organization in 2001, told Fox Business on Monday. Everyone’s conversations are being monitored and stored, Binney said.

Binney resigned from NSA shortly after the U.S. approach to intelligence changed following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He “became a whistleblower after discovering that elements of a data-monitoring program he had helped develop — nicknamed ThinThread — were being used to spy on Americans,” PBS reported.

On Monday he came to the defense of the president, whose allegations on social media over the weekend that…Barack Obama tapped his phones during the 2016 campaign have rankled Washington.

Another former intelligence analyst confirms the same:

Fred Fleitz, who held national-security jobs for 25 years with the CIA, DIA, Department of State, and House Intelligence Committee staff, reminded us recently that Obama and his thugs have a proven record of using the U.S. intelligence apparatus to monitor political opponents.

Back in December of 2015 Fleitz published an article in National Review explaining how Obama’s National Security Agency provided the White House with intercepted Israeli communications containing details of private discussions between Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. lawmakers and American Jewish groups on the Iran nuclear deal.

A bombshell Wall Street Journal article by Adam Entous and Danny Yadron outed the Obama effort. Fleitz termed it a “stunning” revelation to learn that NSA sent the White House intelligence on private discussions with U.S. congressmen on a major policy dispute between the White House and Congress.

Mr. Fleitz says this suggests major misconduct by the NSA and the White House of a sort not seen since Watergate.

First, said Fleitz intercepts of congressmen’s communications regarding a dispute between Congress and the White House should have been destroyed and never left the NSA building. The Journal article said a 2011 NSA directive requires direct communications between foreign intelligence targets and members of Congress to be destroyed, but gives the NSA director the authority to waive this requirement if he determines the communications contain “significant foreign intelligence.”

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broad investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, current and former senior American officials said.

It is not clear whether the intercepted communications had anything to do with Mr. Trump’s campaign, or Mr. Trump himself.

There is no doubt that Obama knew about this, sanctioned it, and planned on using whatever information the NSA could cull, in an attempt to help Hillary’s campaign. This was an effort to destroy Trump in the event he won the election. They found nothing they could use in the way of damaging information, so they’ve gone into cover up mode.

The intelligence agencies are politicized and need a major overhaul.  One of Obama’s last acts of malfeasance was to give the NSA increased power to do want it wants with the information it collects on American citizens.   Obama’s abuse of power was unprecedented. He used  intelligence agencies  to  target political opponents.  When Sharyl Attkisson and James Rosen published damaging information about Benghazi and Fast and Furious, he had their emails, computers, and phones hacked.

As the extent of Obama’s campaign spying comes out, the worse it gets.
