Obama: ‘War on Terrorism’ is Over

It’s official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism.” Neither is it fighting “jihadists” or in a “global war.”

…Obama’s top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.

“The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,'” said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a “new way of seeing” the fight against terrorism.

The only terminology that Mr. Brennan said the administration is using is that the U.S. is “at war with al Qaeda.”

“We are at war with al Qaeda,” he said. “We are at war with its violent extremist allies who seek to carry on al Qaeda’s murderous agenda.”

……Mr. Brennan’s speech was aimed at outlining ways in which the Obama administration intends to undermine the “upstream” factors that create an environment in which terrorists are bred.

This comes on the heels of Obama’s redefinition of what constitutes ‘terrorism’:

The Obama administration has junked the term “global war on terror” because it does not describe properly the nature of the terrorist threat to the US, according to Janet Napolitano, secretary for homeland security.

“One of the reasons the nomenclature is not used is that ‘war’ carries with it a relationship to nation states in conflict with each other and of course terrorism is not necessarily derived from the nation state relationship,” she told the Financial Times. “In some respects ‘war’ is too limiting.”

Yet Brennen makes the case that al Qaeda “is still the most serious threat to the U.S.”

But we’re not fighting “terrorists” anymore, because the “war on terror is over”.
The schizophrenic behavior of the Obama regime must have al Qaeda laughing their asses off.

As for the “war on terror” being “over”, Islamic terrorists didn’t get the meme.
Here’s a website that compiles the atrocities committed by the “religion of peace” on a daily basis:
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

Just a latest sampling:
2009.08.06 (Helmand, Afghanistan) – Two women and two children are among ten Afghanis murdered by two Fedayeen bombers.
2009.08.05 (Ramadi, Iraq) – A woman is killed in a Jihad car bomb blast.
2009.08.05 (Nangarhar, Afghanistan) – Five civilians are blown to bits by Taliban bombers.
2009.08.05 (Jalawla, Iraq) – A young shepherd is murdered by Islamic bombers.
2009.08.05 (Baghdad, Iraq) – Five local police are taken out by a Jihadi roadside bomb.
2009.08.05 (Pattani, Thailand) – A middle-aged Buddhist man is murdered by Islamic gunmen as he returns hom from market.

It’s still happening worldwide.
Obama needs to ring up the Islamic terrorist wackjobs and let them know ‘it’s all over’. Maybe they’ll put away their AKs, IEDs and homicide bombs, hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Uh huh.

The country’s in good hands.
